Hey parkrunners,

Yes we are back on again this weekend!
The Sirromet hills will be alive with the sounds of pounding feet & gasping breath - and a bit of chit-chat for those enjoying a morning walk.
We almost have a full roster, though we could do with a marshal this weekend and the next few weekends as well. If we dont get a marshal we will just put a vest on a wallaby and let you all go!

I hope you enjoyed touristing last weekend, see you on Saturday at the best parkrun in Mt Cotton!

Thanks to everyone who attended event #374 & Sirromet Parkrun's 9th anniversary celebrations this morning. We had a field of 67 runners and walkers who were able to enjoy the beautiful morning on the Sirromet hills.

Of the 67, we had 21 first timers & four PBs! Rodney Mawoyo came home in first with a time of 22.18.

We also celebrated the 250th milestone of one of our regulars & someone who has been running at Sirroment since the start, Drew Hahn. Drew has completed 168 of his runs at Sirroment including a PB of 21.15 & seven first place finishes. Great achievement Drew!

A big thanks as always to our volunteers. This morning we had the great help of Annette, Pete & Sue Drewett, Ian, Di, Brad & Merilyn McCann, Linda & Pete - really appreciate it. A reminder that there are plenty of volunteer roster positions to fill over the following weeks, so please let us know below if you can help out. Noted that Sirroment Parkrun is cancelled next week (8/02).

Hey parkrunners,

ITS OUR BIRTHDAY!!!.............WE'RE TURNING 9!!!

Are you coming to Sirromet parkrun tomorrow to celebrate our 9th birthday with us? We would love to have you along. As with any birthday, its customary to dress up in your finest, and this year we have chosen crazy hats! So come along wearing your craziest hat and you are sure to fit right in.
We probably wont get as many participants as the 620 that we had for our 1st parkrun in 2016 (pic below), but whatever your ability, or whether you like to run, walk, or crawl you are most welcome.
We will do a run brief at 6.50am followed by the start at 7am. Tomorrow will be warm again, so make sure to bring some water and sunscreen. And remember, while you are welcome, please leave your dogs at home as they are not permitted on Sirromet grounds due to the wildlife.

Our roster is full for tomorrow, then we are cancelled again next week (8/2/25), then the week after (15/2/25) we urgently need volunteers, so if you can help please shoutout or put your name on the board tomorrow.

We look forward to seeing you bright & shiny, wearing a hat, tomorrow morning.

Sirromet parkrun #373 🎉

What a fantastic morning for event #373! A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers—Linda, David, Cassie, Glenda, Macy, Jane, and Sean—your time and effort make it all possible!

Congratulations to our first finishers, Corey Rodriquez and Rebekah Mills—great running! 👏 A warm welcome to the 11 first-timers who joined us today; we hope to see you back soon.

A very special shout-out to regular Di Mather on her 200th parkrun and her 100th here at Sirromet—what an amazing milestone! 🎉🎉

Please remember there will be no Sirromet parkrun for the next couple of weeks due to concerts at the venue. We’ll be back on deck on Saturday, 1 February, and we can’t wait to see you all then!

We have watched Dad build an impressive mound for Mum to lay her eggs. Now there are two beautiful babies foraging near our start.

Well that's a wrap for the last parkrun of 2024!
Today we 37 people come out to run and walk the hills of Sirromet 17 we're first timers to Sirromet!
We had a photo finish at the end with Steve and Rodney - great run in a time of 21:24. Joanne was our first female across the line in a time of 24:41
A huge shout out to Linda for completing her 50th volunteer this year! She has done a total of 226 volunteers! Thanks so much for all you do Linda. We really appreciate you.

Sirromet event #370 - Christmas edition!
Today we had 36 runners and walkers embrace the hills of Sirromet!
7 first timers to Sirromet we hope you enjoyed it and will come back again.
Congratulations to Steve, our first male across the line in a time of 23:20 and to Kat our fist female finisher in a time of 25:52
