Sirromet parkrun

Sirromet parkrun Sirromet parkrun is a FREE, timed, weekly 5km event for runners and walkers of all fitness levels. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!
(27)

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Sirromet parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the grounds of the beautiful Sirromet Winery and get physically acti

ve in the process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there! Please Note:
- Sirromet parkrun is not pram friendly.
- Dogs/pets are not permitted on the grounds
- No food or drink is to be brought onto the property, excluding bottled water.

Happy Wednesday parkrun people. Hope you’re having a great week and managed to pick a winner in yesterday’s big race!
Just a reminder that Sirromet parkrun is cancelled for this week due to an event being held at the winery. Back Saturday 16th November.
This is a great opportunity to visit the many other parkruns around the area and maybe do some voluntouring to help out.

Cheers and enjoy the rest of your week.

Hey parkrunners,

Another great morning at Sirromet parkrun, i hope you all enjoyed your run or walk.
Our course was in good condition, though it was quite warm out on course.
Today we had 45 parkrunners, 18 of those being first timers to our course. Congrats to Sophie Horvath and Rika Arimura for recording pb's this morning also.
Our 1st runner home was Steve Ryles, and 1st female was Avril Francis - well done to you both and everyone else who completed the course.
Thanks to our volunteers this morning, we cant put parkrun on without our awesome volunteers giving up their run / walk for you, so thanks to Sean, Isabell, Liam, Bradley, Merilyn, Juanita, & Alan - you guys are stars.
We had a few milestones this morning - Merilyn McCann did her 100th volunteer, thats an awesome achievement over a long period of time so thanks Merilyn; We also had Juanita Case doing her 50th volunteer, Juanita helps us a lot so thanks very much; Pete Suridge did his 150th parkrun, 50th parkrun at Sirromet, and its his birthday also! (Pete also got 3rd step on the podium for his birthday today); And Scott Marosek is having a birthday today also - Happy Birthday to you both.
Please note that Sirromet parkrun is cancelled next week (9/11/24), and again in 3 weeks (23/11/24) so get your parkrun tourist plans under way.
Well thats about all from us, have a great weekend and we will see you back at Sirromet parkrun in 2 weeks.

Hey parkrunners,

Only a couple more sleeps until the Sirromet hills come alive with the sounds of panting parkrunners.
We have a dream team of volunteers ready to help out this weekend - thanks to Liam, Sean, Isabell, Bradley, Merilyn & Juanita, we really appreciate your help.
We also have a couple of big milestones to celebrate this weekend, but you will have to come along to find out whose they might be.
Dont forget, Sirromet parkrun is cancelled on the 9th and 23rd of November so time to organise those tourist parkruns. Between the 2 cancellations, on the 16th Nov, we are in need of a few vollies to help out, so if you can, or if you haven't volunteered in a while, we would appreciate your help.
I would love to see you at Sirromet Winery for parkrun this Saturday morning at 6.50am for a run brief, then its go time at 7am.
Counting down the sleeps......

Hey parkrunners,

I hope you all enjoyed your morning out at Sirromet parkrun this morning, it was a beautiful morning, in a beautiful place.
We had 53 people complete our course this morning, 31 of those being first timers to Sirromet - we would to see you all back again soon.
Robert Fleming was 1st home in 19.58, and Julie Leake was our 1st female finisher in 26.27. In addition Michael Nell, Julie Leake, & Emma Woodward all recorded PB's - well done to you all, and everyone else who completed the course.
Thanks to all of our volunteers - Liam, Juanita, Pete, Sue, Kane & Rika, and a special shoutout to our awesome vollie Linda who completed her 50th volunteer at Sirromet (she has done 216 vollies total!), Linda also brought along the Zooper Doopers for the finish line so thanks for that, they were very well received.
Next week we have a full vollie roster, the following week (9th Nov) there is no parkrun at Sirromet, the week after (16th Nov) we need almost all volunteers, and the week after that (23rd Nov) we have no event again. So start planning your tourist parkruns for our 2 cancelled Saturdays.
Thats all from us, have a good weekend, and we will see you again next Saturday - Same time, Same place!

Hey parkrunners,

Yes it's getting near that time of the week again, so are you coming to Sirromet parkrun this Saturday?
Our course is in good condition, ready for you to enjoy, however the weather is warming up so remember to drink plenty of fluids before, during and after parkrun.
Thanks to our awesome volunteers - Linda, Liam, Juanita, Pete & Sue, and Kane & Rika, we have a full vollie roster, much appreciated as we couldn't do it without you guys.
Everyone is welcome to come along no matter your pace or fitness level, we would love to have you with us. We will do a short run brief at 6.50am followed by the start at 7am. Please do not bring your dog along as they are not permitted at Sirromet Winery due to the wildlife.
After your run / walk you are welcome to stay around for coffee or breakfast.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning at Sirromet parkrun.

Hi all,

Hope everyone has had a great week.

We're back at Sirromet this Saturday for event #363.

As always, a huge thanks to our volunteers for this weekend - Linda, Victor, Grace & Juanita. If we could get an additional volunteer to marshal, that would be great - please let us know if you can do this role!

On a whole, our volunteer roster is looking very strong over the coming weeks, so thanks to all of those who have their name down. If you were looking to pencil your name in for a future week, the 16 Nov would be your next opportunity. Noted also that there are no events on either the 9th or 23rd Nov.

Look forward to seeing everyone at 6.50am for run brief.
