We are excited to announce that we are hiring juniors! We are seeking a junior team member to work after school shifts from Tuesday to Friday, with the occasional Saturday. The role involves assisting our staff with nightly clean-up and helping during busy pick-up times. While experience is not required, applicants must be confident working with all breeds of dogs and be willing to engage in Fear Free and dog behavior education 🐾

STERILISATION EXEMPTION CERTIFICATES‼️
Please note that all dogs over 6 months of age MUST provide a sterilisation certificate as per Dogs and Cats Online. We accept exemptions granted by a veterinarian, but these are only provided for dogs that meet the exemption criteria, typically for medical reasons. You will need to book an appointment with your veterinary clinic for assessment. Additionally, if you have a female dog in season, we cannot provide daycare during this time, regardless of exemption certificates. If we find that your dog is in season, we will isolate them and contact you for pick-up. Thank you for your understanding.

What can I expect leading up to my daycare booking?

Day 0: All clients complete an enrolment form so we can gather crucial information as well as gain a deeper understanding of your dog's temperament, personality, preferences, play style and stresses. Vaccine and sterilisation/exemption certificates, and consent forms must be provided prior to daycare commencement. Familiarise yourself with The Doggy Den policies, including dogs being on a leash during drop-off and pick-up, by checking your emails before your first booking.

Day 1: We allow time for your dog to acclimate to our facility before interacting with other dogs. Following your dog's adjustment to the new environment, we will conduct a gradual introduction to another dog of similar size and temperament, utilising the Fear, Anxiety, and Stress (FAS) Scale to assess your dog's response and determine their suitability for our daycare program. Your dog will then be introduced to their play group. Dogs may spend time in multiple play groups depending on their needs throughout the day. Your dog will be sent home with their first daycare report card, and you’ll be able to book their further daycare sessions. We can take permanent weekly or casual bookings.

Rest assured, if we find your dog unsuitable for our daycare during the temperament test, it does not mean they are any less adorable. Our primary concern is the well-being of all dogs in our care, and we will not force your dog to endure triggers that may exacerbate their fear, anxiety and stress response. Your dog will be placed in their own secure pen and you will be contacted regarding their pick up.

At The Doggy Den, we are committed to providing a Fear-Free certified daycare experience. Our temperament testing and daily supervision of dogs is guided by the Fear, Anxiety, and Stress (FAS) Scale. The FAS scale ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs in our care.
