Why Consistency Matters in Dog Daycare 🐾

As we move into the new year, we wanted to share a little insight into why consistency is so important in a daycare environment. 🐶

Dogs really thrive when they know what to expect. Coming on different days each week means they often meet new dogs and personalities each visit. This can make it harder for them to settle, feel confident, form lasting friendships, and enjoy their time at daycare to the fullest. Spending time with familiar doggy friends helps them relax, build trust, and get the most out of playtime. 💛

If your dog doesn’t have a regular booking schedule (same day/s each week or fortnight), we’d love for you to get in touch to secure a spot. Casual spots will be limited, so a regular schedule helps make sure your dog doesn’t miss out.

For casual clients: When you book via our app, your request will be sent to our team for approval. ✅ Please wait for confirmation before bringing your dog to daycare to avoid disappointment. Monthly bookings will be treated as casual and will depend on space in your dog’s usual group.

At The Doggy Den, we pride ourselves on clear communication, transparency, and genuine care.

We get to know each dog personally, their favourite activities, who they get along with best, and how they like to spend their time.

We’re actively engaging and supervising all day, so if something seems off, a change in behaviour, an unusual bowel movement, or your dog isn’t feeling themselves, we’ll notice and contact you. At pick-up, we’ll happily share information about your dog’s day.

Rest assured, if a dog isn’t enjoying their day or showing their best behaviour with their friends, we call it a day and let you know. Your dog’s wellbeing, the group’s harmony, and your peace of mind are always our priority 🩵

Your dog can have a day of fun at daycare and leave sparkling clean! Our doggy spa service is an extra treat that can be booked alongside daycare. They’ll enjoy playtime with friends, then finish with a wash and blow dry (or towel dry), heading home happy, tired, and fresh 🫧

🐾 Meet Aaron 🐾

Aaron has spent most of his life working hands-on with dogs and brings a huge amount of experience to The Doggy Den. He started his career at the RSPCA as an Animal Attendant, then went on to spend five years at a Queensland kennel—working his way from Kennel Attendant to the Kennel Manager.

Along the way, Aaron spent four years training dogs in obedience and security work, specialising in behaviour rehabilitation and controlled protection training, helping dogs successfully transition into reliable working roles. He later gained two years’ experience as a Grooming Assistant.

He loves dogs of all breeds and sizes, and at home is outnumbered by an Irish Wolfhound, a Staghound, and a retired working Staffordshire Bull Terrier 🐶🐶🐶. Safe to say… dogs are very much his world!

At The Doggy Den, Aaron’s calm and confident presence keeps his group of dogs relaxed and happy. With a soft spot for large breeds, he’s especially skilled with our bigger, more energetic dogs, forming strong bonds with each of them.

✨ Snoopy the Dachshund ✨

1. How was your dog’s behaviour and confidence before joining The Doggy Den, compared to now?
As a rescue dog, Snoopy was experiencing a lot of fear based aggression and reactivity, especially towards other dogs and strangers. With the careful attention and care from the doggy den, he is becoming much more regulated and is even excited to make new friends out in public.

2. Do you feel daycare has improved your dog’s happiness or overall wellbeing?
Yes! The doggy den has provided Snoopy with the much needed stimulation and socialisation to be able to tackle his anxieties. He just loves every minute spent with the team !

3. What does your dog enjoy most about coming to The Doggy Den?
He has made so many new friends, big and small! He enjoys being able to play with high energy dogs, especially his bestie Hex, and much like his sister he has a bit of crush on Todd too!

4. What helped you feel comfortable trusting us with your dog?
I started bringing my other dachshund Frankie to the team at the den in January, who were so loving and really helped her with her separation anxiety. After adopting Snoopy later in the year and making small improvements with his behaviour alone, I knew the Den would be able to provide him the safest space to expand his socialisation skills and support him to grow. The team keep you informed every step of the way and truly love all their furry clients.

5. Would you recommend daycare to other dog owners? Why?
Absolutely, and I already do! The team at the den are so attentive to all clients and their needs. Through their new “Balanced” programs they can provide special one-on-one sessions to help dogs be able to socialise, and support them to graduate to being with the rest of the dogs. They tailor groups according to client temperament and play style, so you know your dog is going to be in their happiest and safest environment. Both of my dogs come home exhausted and content, and can’t wait to go back each week!
