VET NURSE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a positive outgoing certificate IV qualified veterinary nurse for an opportunity to become a part of our amazing nursing team. However, we will consider someone who is currently studying their cert IV or is keen to get into the veterinary industry and has a passion for animals.

YOUR ROLE would include (but not limited to):

* All aspects of surgical and hospital nursing, including care of surgery cases and in-patients, anaesthesia monitoring and record keeping, supporting the veterinarian
* Reception duties and administration including scheduling appointments, record keeping, client communication and inventory management
* Admission and discharging of surgical and hospital patients
* Cleaning of all areas of the clinic
* Days include Monday-Sunday with hours between 8am-6pm however afterhours will be required depending on emergencies and is shared between the nurses

What we are looking for:

Certificate IV in veterinary nursing or willing to obtain
* A good understanding of animal husbandry
* Confidence working with small animals
* Proficient in literacy and numeracy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Work independently as well as within a team
* Have a positive attitude towards your work and show initiative
* Provide outstanding customer service and patient care
* Excellent time management and organisational skills

* Flexible roster with 1-2 weekends per month
* Remuneration above award wages for the right applicant depending on experience

RECEPTIONIST OPPORTUNITY

Mount Isa Vet Surgery is looking for a full time veterinary receptionist!

Our practice is independently owned and has been established for more than 45 years, caring for the pets of Mount Isa families. We pride ourselves on a high standard of care for our patients and have a loyal and growing client base.

YOUR ROLE would include (but not limited to):
• Being the first point of contact for our clients over the phone, in person and electronically.
• Administrative duties such as booking and managing appointments, customer sales, assisting in stock control including ordering and restocking, invoicing and receipting, balancing the till etc.
• Computer data entry and general administration
• The role may also include other duties to assist our vet nurses such as walking and feeding patients, cleaning of various areas including cages, consult rooms etc.
• Days are Monday to Friday between 8am-6pm however some afterhours will be required due to emergencies and may include some Saturday mornings.
What we are looking for:
• Someone who is warm, friendly, compassionate and friendly
• Able to communicate effectively with clients and staff
• Comfortable working in a busy environment and with animals
• Able to multi-task and have exceptional time management skills
• Pro-active with excellent initiative
• Proficient with computers and have good writing skills
• Able to take instructions, work independently but also as part of a team
