The big wet has delivered 130 mm over 4 days with more likely yet. The House Dam is full back up past the airstrip road. Most dams should be full, possibly a couple overflowing. All dams were cleaned out, some deepened and two new ones constructed. This should ensure a good supply of water for most of the year.
Total rainfall for the year so far is now 178 mm ( 7 inches ). Which is fantastic.
So how many floodgates will need replacing? A busy year of branding should come as a result of good water and new feed.

Take care and stay safe. Remember, if it's flooded, don't even think about it.

Posted 1st March 2018. All of Western Queensland need to prepare for a potential Major Record Flood which is forecast to impact the area during the next 5 days. It could rival anything during the past 44 years (since the 1974 flood), it may also be so significant that nothing

Mustering complete for 2017. Dam cleaning and maintenance underway which will continue right up until the wet season sets in. Cattle are in good condition at the moment. With rains over December and January, that will make for a good season of mustering starting around Easter 2028.
Indications of a bumper Mango crop across the north show great potential for a good home grown crop around Christmas.
Lots of visitors have made for an enjoyable year.
Have a great summer, and drop in for a visit.

Mustering for 2016 is all but complete. 2016 has been a very good year with good sale prices, rain and lots of grazing fodder. Dry season has started but cattle are in excellent condition. Many great people have visited this year.
Admin will be having a break now, though the page will be monitored and messages may take a while before answered. Best to ring the station direct on 07 4743 8947. Thankyou for your support. Have a great summer.

More rain, 20 ml, on the southern half of the property, has freshened the feed which is plentiful. Cattle are in top condition. Seven musters completed now and another five will complete the first round.
Visitors are starting to roll through the gate as the tourist season builds up. Those who have called in over the past few years will be pleasantly surprised at how the station has recovered since the horror of 2013. Ron and Joan look forward to meeting you again this year.
Plans are afoot for a great initiative during My Isa Show and Mount Isa Rodeo. More on that later.
Have you seen the Outback at Isa Dirty Little Secrets Photographic Competition? ( Permanent Residents) We have some great ones, but you need to book in if you wish to see some of the best through your camera lens.
And please don't forget, if you wish to visit you need to call and call in so we know where you are and you know if there is station work going on that needs to be avoided. Thankyou for your continued cooperation.

Some overflowing dams during the last rain event which brought just over 2 inches. Home dam is backed up to the cattle yard- aerodrome road. Lots of fun now for Ron and Julien lighting up patches of old spinifex which will rejuvenate with succulent new shoots. Cattle will be in top condition soon. Let's hope the market holds until mustering starts around Easter.
There is a good chance of more rain in a couple of weeks too.

And great to see large areas of drought affected land getting some good rain at last.

IT'S RAINING :-)
15 mm this wet so far. Great to see the East and West Leichhardt River flowing from south but now good rain on the land. 50 to 60 mm: is that too much to ask for???

A Merry Safe and Happy Christmas to all our Facebook friends.
It has been a pretty good year overall for the station and ending with some good though scattered storm rain over most of the area and 5 inches in the homestead rain gauge ( that's about 120 mm for you young metric generation ).
The last five weeks has been busy with the building of two new dams and extending some dry ones. All dams have at least some water now. The cyclonic conditions heading this way from the gulf look promising for a bit more.
So now it's fresh mangos every day for a while and perhaps a day off tomorrow.
Thank you to all those who have been to the station this year and made life more interesting for everybody here. See you all again in the new year. Stay safe and remember, Love is the greatest force of all.
Don't forget those who are in the grip of drought again/still. If you can spin some coin to BuyaBale or Mount Isa Care Packages, you know your effort will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again to Charles and Todd for all your hard work supporting farmers in need again this year.
