Axen’s Grooming Caddy/Wash Bags are not only stylish, they are super tough! Primarily designed to hold horse washing & grooming products, they are fantastic for a large range of uses! Great for horse showing to hang on the side of a warmup pen/arena with pockets for notebooks, pens & phones. The adjustable snap clip handle allows for it to be fully opened & hung through a rail or tie up point on a float. Also great to loop your spare tail bands onto.

Fishing, camping, beach, showering, these caddy’s have so many uses. One of the benefits of the mesh is that you can pack wet gear & it will dry without going mouldy.

I love that I get the opportunity to create things that I don’t normally make, like this ultramesh cover to suit an XL dog crate. I made this for a local customer who was thrilled with the quality/fit & has now ordered another. And how good are the doggo models 🐕

Four heavy duty zips on front to access the door & allow breeze, with Velcro tabs to allow zip door to roll up & bound along bottom edge to give it a nice finish & add some structure. This is ultramesh, a heavy duty PVC coated mesh that is UV & mould resistant, not a cheap shade cloth.

This cover is valued at $260.

As with all my products, you are ensured 110% high quality! I use only the best materials, thread, binding, zips etc.
What really sets my work apart though is the attention to detail & stitching that looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside, guaranteeing a professional finish & products that last years.

I now have the ability to offer custom embroidery on products which is outsourced so please keep in mind you need to order these well in advance (at least 3 weeks turnaround). Embroidery can only be done on PVC, so the bag must have a front pocket. $23 extra per bag.

Axen Rugs Deluxe Nose Bags are made from Ultamesh & feature an internal pvc liner reaching 12cm high up sides & inside base. All double stitched, quality poll strap & metal slide. They are a good size without being too big. Fit most horses from 14hh to 16.2hh.

Many of you will have noticed that we have changed our name & logo 😍 now know as Axen Made, instead of Axen Rugs.

Not only have we updated our existing logo, I also had another image created that will be used on products not associated with horses. I am thrilled with the work Jen from Ironbark Promotions did on both of these images!

As I advised a few days ago, I am moving away from making horse rugs. I’m not saying I won’t ever make them again but I will not be taking any rug orders for the foreseeable future & moving more into specialised bags & outdoor equipment. I will still offer the full range of equine accessories such as nose bags, fly veils, hay bags etc.

For now the website will still be under the Axen Rugs domain name & I will gradually rebrand the website. I am also in the process of reviewing pricing so please bare with me if you’re waiting on pricing.

I have had so much support & positive feedback from customers regarding the changes, it’s much appreciated. And thank you to all that like, share & comment on my posts! It really does help grow my business & audience.

Did you know that I custom make all kinds of bags & covers out of canvas, PVC & ultramesh?

Last week I had the privilege of making a custom zip bag for a set of Pulse Therapy PEMF loops for a lovely lady in Victoria. It was made out of Australian 12oz ripstop with a chunky zip around three sides for easy access with a double zip slide. It featured two short carry handles, an adjustable shoulder strap & a front Velcro pocket. I added a specialised Velcro fastening system inside the bag so that the loops can be secured to prevent them getting squashed at the bottom of the bag while being carried. It is fully adjustable & the Velcro tabs can also be removed.

I can also make matching custom bags for the portable pulse head unit with a seperate compartment for a step down converter & cord reel. All can be made to your specifications & preferences.

To promote your business or have your name written on custom bags, I can now provide embroidery or full colour printing on outdoor banner material that can then be sewn to products.

I only manufacture the highest quality gear using the highest quality materials. If you’ve ever purchased an Axen product you will know that every product is produced to the highest level. No dodgy stitching or shortcuts here!

This month Axen Rugs turns 10 🥳👏🏻🎉
From very humble beginnings with just an industrial sewing machine that I really had no idea on how to use, to now being known for some of the highest quality, custom made equine & outdoor products in Australia. I have nearly 5000 followers on Facebook & will be running a birthday competition later in the month, keep your peepers peeled for that 😁

So, with the big 1-0 comes some big changes here at Axen. I have decided to re-brand, with a name change & a change of direction. Why? Because in order to continue, I need to stay viable in a tough market where costs are rising more than rises in profit margins. Quality always has & always will be my priority. If I can’t make it to a high specification, then I simply do not make it.

I want to grow in the outdoor & camping market, I feel there is room for higher quality & product variations in these areas than what is currently on offer. I will still offer equine products, but will only do a very small number of horse rugs. Realistically to make horse rugs viable I would honestly need to charge $330…not only do I use premium materials such as heavy duty binding, straps, buckles etc. but they are labour intensive. I spend hours & hours sewing them because I double & triple stitch everything. I love making them & seeing them on horses, but I’m a business & have a very specific set of skills that are valuable.
I will still be making all the equine gear & accessories I do now! Horses always have & always will be my passion, I’ll never completely step out of making horse gear.

So! With that all said, I’m thinking “Axen Equine & Outdoor” but would absolutely love suggestions as it’s a bit bland 😂 if you come up with something that really floats my boat, I’ll send you a freebie!

Everyone say good morning to Rocky! He is now in recovery from being a dog rug wrecker 😂 Rocky's Mum, Esther messaged me this morning in disbelief because he wore his custom made Axen dog rug all night & was unable to wreck it. It's the first time he's not destroyed a dog rug on the first night he's worn it. This is Rocky's face this morning. He's a bit miffed about why he can't wreck his Axen rug 😆 australian made ripstop canvas, lined with Kersey wool for extra warmth, heavy duty buckle & strap at the chest & a side release clip on the belly strap for ease of use.

Here’s a little video about what I recommend for leg strap length & how I like to do do them up. For the comfort of my horses & their safety, this is what I’ve found works best for me & definitely makes rugs last longer.
