Danielle and Sarah, the founders of SkinnyDog Pet Treats, have been making dehydrated treats for their own dogs for many years now. They both feel it's the best way to ensure their dogs have nutritious, additive free treats that are also delicious and make training fun. However, Danielle, a vet nurse, noticed that many people who came into her clinic struggled to find the same for their own dogs,

particularly those whose dogs had food allergies...and so SkinnyDog Pet Treats was born. SkinnyDog aims, to source local, ethical, human grade produce to turn into yummy and healthy treats for the dogs and cats of Perth. All our produce is either Free range, organic, sustainably sourced or a combination or these. Regardless of the protein we are using, we do not add anything to our products, so you know you're feeding your pets a nutritious treat every time.

Next weekend we will be attending and competing in the ASSA sled dog nationals. This event is held 3.5 hours from Perth and sadly has no reception.
Please note we will not be contactable from Thursday 11th July to Tuesday 16th July.
All orders will be delivered as normal.
Stock levels will be updated on Wednesday evening before we leave, so the website will reflect what is available.

Just a quick reminder that it is a long weekend but our orders still close on Monday at 7am for deliveries and pick ups. We work for a short period of time on the Monday to pack orders ready for the courier first thing on Tuesday morning.

Power was restored earlier this week and stock has come back. We have been putting in long hours getting as much stock made as we possibly can. Some is low due to supply not getting to us in time (of course it’s a long weekend too🤣) or there just not being enough hours available to dehydrate everything.
Orders are open and deliveries will be happening this coming week.
I would like to thank all of our wonderful customers and friends for your help and understanding. This was not how we expected to start the year, but onwards and upwards.

GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS

Good news is we should have power restored today.
Bad news is we will still need to wait 24-36 hours for the freezer to get down to temperature and make sure it is all running fine before we get our stock back. Sadly this means there will be NO DELIVERIES THIS WEEK.
All order that have been placed will be delivered the week of the 29th January.
Apologies for any inconvenience. Sadly we can’t control the weather and the ongoing repercussions.

We still don’t have power or phone coverage and restoration times are unknown. The power poles to our property have been destroyed, sadly.
Please bare with us while we try to work through this. We will try to get to coverage areas to respond to messages and emails once to twice a day.

NOTICE FOR SOUTH OF RIVER AND BUSSELTON DELIVERIES

We were hit hard by the storm that came through the hills yesterday afternoon and currently don’t have power or mobile reception/internet access.

All orders are going out today as normal but there were a few customers whose order we couldn’t completely fill. We will contact you all personally as soon as we have the ability to do so.

If you have contacted us and we haven’t responded, we apologise and will respond to your query as soon as we are able.

Wow, what a fun time our 12 days of Christmas was. We hope you enjoyed seeing the different things on offer each day. To wrap up the event we would like to tell you the all important winners of different prizes and also the number of items donated to our donation days.

Day 3 - Plant a tree for every order placed - 27 trees will be planted in autumn.
Day 5 - Win a personalised bauble, winner is Michelle Hicks.
Day 8 - Pack of treats donated for every order - 8 packs will be donated to shelters.
Day 9&10 - Caption this image to win a $50 voucher, there was strong competition for this but the eventual winner is Lauren Heerey.

Reminder order close 7am Monday for delivery on Tuesday and Wednesday. We are closed for our Christmas break from the 20th December till 15th January. All orders placed after 7am Monday the 18th December will need to be collected from our Mundaring base by 6pm 20th December or they can be delivered when we re open.
We have had an extremely busy week getting as much product as humanly possible made. Currently our stock levels are the highest they will be as we will not be making more product over the weekend.

She might not be pretty, but she is still functional!
This delivery box and liner are heading out tomorrow on their 9th delivery. You heard me right, she had been to 8 houses and back.

With your help returning your clean packaging we can keep it out of landfill or recycling for as long as possible.
But it also keeps your delivery fees low. This box and thermal liner costs $5, so the more we can use them the less fees we have to pass on. Packaging for delivery is one of the biggest costs for small businesses and the environment.

We hope to see her back for delivery number 10 in the new year 💕

Today is world egg day! 🥚 Here at SkinnyDog we use free range/pasture raised eggs in all our balanced mixes. This means we go through approximately 30 dozen eggs a fortnight 😳 Our little flock of hens and roosters live a true free range life. This our evening going to bed routine (thankfully we live on a very quiet road). Our girls are currently giving us about a dozen eggs per day. For those of you that have followed us for a while these are the chicks we hatched last year. While most egg producing chickens still live in cages we feel it is of upmost importance that the eggs we use come from chickens that live great lives. True Free range/pastured eggs also have a much better nutritional profile than caged eggs. Finally the West Paw Toppl and Tux are coming back! These are a favourite of ours as they have a bigger opening so are not as frustrating as some enrichment and as also easier to stuff. They are now available for pre order. These will ship from 6th January.

Everyone in our house loves our Venison bone broth... even the chickens 💕 Waste management is highly important to us, we try to send as little to landfill as absolutely possible. With Covid restrictions now easing it is time to reopen the Shop!! However there will be a few changes. 🐾Our opening hours are changing. Initially we will now be open Friday from 9am to 4pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm. 🐾We will be offering private appointments on Fridays from 4-6pm.
