OTTWA Feature | WA Sire of the Year

๐Ÿ† Last weekend racing participants and enthusiasts gathered to attend the 23/24 WA Thoroughbred Racing Awards and WA Racing Hall of Fame. At these awards, Playing God was crowned the WA Sire of the Year.

Bred by Durham Lodge Thoroughbred Stud and trained by Neville Parnham, Playing God won over 1.6 million dollars on the racetrack. He now stands at stud with Darling View Thoroughbreds.

With approximately 434 foals since beginning his stud duties in 2014, Playing God has proven to sire not only talented racehorses but some fantastic off the track mounts.

โญ Notable OTT horses sired by Playing God:
๐Ÿ‡ Platoon โ€“ competed and trained by Tegan Cook. Platoon retired with $800,859 in lifetime earnings and has since become a competitive eventer. Platoon was the EvA80 OTT class winner at Wooroloo CCN in July, second at WAYER International Horse Trials in March and third at Moora Horse Trials and Gidgegannup ODE in June and July.

๐Ÿ‡ Thunder God โ€“ competed and owned by junior rider, Ella McCrum. While not as successful on the racetrack, Thunder God regularly competes in show jumping and will be venturing across Australia soon to compete at the Australian Interschool National Championships, proudly sponsored by Off the Track WA.

There are eighteen horses registered with OTTWA Passports that are sired by Playing God. Most of these horses have shown to have the talent and capabilities to become competitive eventers and show jumpers. We are excited to see more and more Playing God progeny as they retire from racing and transition into off the track careers.
