Mare owners - here’s one small thing you can do for your mares to help them to be comfortable

Mare owners take note!!
The sm**ma around the outside of the v***a can actually Alter the Mare's Gait!
Sm**ma is skin cells+skin oils+dirt which can form into hard lumps. It can be outside and inside your mare's v***a.
I recently visited a mare who has had lots of therapy and vet visits for her lack of performance.
During my observations I noted she was plaiting and taking very short steps with her hind feet.
When I checked under her tail (which I do at every initial session) I found many hard lumps in the folds of skin around her v***a, they appeared to be deforming the shape of the v***a.
Thinking it must be uncomfortable I asked permission to clean the area, which both the owner and the mare, were very happy for me to do.
Straight after cleaning, without doing any other bodywork. We walked the mare out and WOW!
The change in gait was immeadiate and got better and better the longer she walked.
She stopped plaiting and was taking steps double the length of 5 minutes earlier.
My gosh I was amazed!
So we found one of the pieces of the puzzle for this mare's lack of performance.

What an amazing weekend we had at the OAGS Interschools competition. It was cold, but the atmosphere was warm and the people were lovely.
Congratulations to all the riders, and to their parents who helped and looked after and supported them throughout the weekend.
Most of all congratulations to the organisers of the event who did an absolutely amazing job! This is by far one of the best events I’ve been to - and I go to many. Well done team 😊
