The Pet Medical Team decided the theme for this year's Christmas party was Grannies on the Green.πŸ₯‚

The weather didn't quite suit the barefoot bowls that they were hoping to play, but they kept calm and carried on with their celebrations at the Scone Bowling Club.

This was a much-deserved party for all that could attend.
Best Dressed Grannie went to Nurse Agi, and the runner-up went to Surgery Nurse Emma.

A glimpse into advanced diagnostics! 🐾

The team at Pet Medical are excited to announce a new diagnostic imaging service – Computed Tomography (CT). Here, Dr. Cate is preparing Tilly for a CT scan to assess her skull. With this cutting-edge technology, we can develop the best treatment plans for our furry patients! πŸΆπŸ’•

🚨 Why CT Scans Are Game-Changers for Pets! 🐢🐾

CT imaging offers incredible precision in diagnosing issues in dogs and other small animals!

βœ… High-Resolution 3D Imaging: Perfect for spotting hidden problems in bones, organs, or soft tissues.
βœ… Versatility: Helps with orthopaedic, neurological, respiratory, and even dental issues.
βœ… Pre-Surgical Planning: Pinpoints exact locations of tumours, fractures, and more.
βœ… Quick & Non-Invasive: Scans are fast, reducing anaesthesia time for pets.
βœ… Better Outcomes: Clearer diagnostics = more effective treatments.

Please, please make sure all your pet's vaccinations are up to date!!
With the warmer weather and rain, we are seeing more and more Parvo cases.

What to look for:
🚩 Lethargy
🚩 Loss of appetite
🚩 Vomiting
🚩Diarrhea, which is often bloody and smelly
🚩Abdominal pain and bloating
🚩 Repeated heaving, retching, or coughing sounds
🚩 Dry or sticky gums, sunken eyes, loss of skin elasticity, excessive panting, or decreased urine production

If you think your pet has Parvo, please call our clinics first before coming through our doors, this disease is highly contagious. Our team will instruct you on what to do and come out to your car.

What is a mum supposed to do when her teenage daughter refuses to feed her litter of baby Jack Russells? Grandma Jack Russell steps up to feed her grandbabies.

This delightful litter came in to see Dr April for their microchips and vaccines last week; puppies and mum ran around while Grandma took a much-needed rest on the scales.🀭

Please remember to vaccinate your pets to prevent unwanted diseases.

On Sunday, Pet Medical was thrilled to host once again, 6 veterinary students to participate in our SNIP Student Practical Program!

Five students from CSU Wagga Wagga and one from the University of Sydney joined our dedicated vet and nursing team for a day focused on building skills in anaesthesia, cat spays, and castrations.

These hands-on experiences are invaluable for the students, and we are grateful for our team's commitment to mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Spring certainly lasted slightly longer than usual this year!
If we believe what the Weather Apps tell us it's about to get hotter. πŸ₯΅

Your Pet will need -
πŸ’¦ Plenty of fresh water and change the water regularly
πŸ’¦ Shady spots to rest
πŸ’¦ Wadding pools are great for those dogs who love to splash about
πŸ’¦ Cooling mats
πŸ’¦ Exercise in the cooler times of the day
πŸš— Never leave your pet in the car, even if the aircon is running πŸ₯΅, pets overheat very quickly in cars.

Dr Rachel and Nurse Jaz attended Dash-October in Paterson last weekend.πŸ₯°

People chatted with Dr Rachel about their Dachshund’s, the Dashi's took turns on the Accell Animal Therapy Mat (which vibrates and soothes), doggy treat bags were handed out for snacks and Pet Medical dog leads.

There were Dashi's in costumes, Dashi's in carts for when their little legs got tired, and plenty of stalls for their owners to browse.
Not sure who had the most fun…..Dr Rachel or the Dachshunds.

This is Sky, Sky seems to love playing with Lego, who doesn't love a bit of Lego?

Sky ate 2 Lego tyres and Dr Isla and Dr Chelsea had to perform surgery to remove them from her stomach.
Check out the photo with Dr Isla holding them after surgery, they are big lego tyres.

Did you know?
Lego is the largest maker of tyres on the planet,
Lego's tyres are not all-weather, nor can they go off-road. They also fit in the palm of your hand.🀭

Sky recovered from surgery and will no longer be allowed to play with Lego.

Winston ate something he shouldn't have. 🫒
Can you guess what he ate ..........?

A plastic pink hair clip!
If you look at the X-ray, all that can be seen is the metal piece that holds a hair clip together.
Winston had successful surgery and was able to go home minus the ingested hair clip.
