Was great to meet Teneal at Tack Track at the Adelaide Equestrian Festival yesterday. Fantastic initiative and an inexpensive way to protect your tack from theft and reselling. Check out her page and give her some love.

We enjoyed watching the cross country in the beautiful Adelaide parkland and wish all riders and horses a safe and enjoyable day today.

The Brave Pants Company had me sold with their sensational riding jackets designed for us more well rounded equestrians and of course I couldn't go past the Saddleworld LeMieux stand.

The grounds were super, the riding was elite and it was great to see both of my girls enjoying the day. Thanks Adelaide! We'll be back.

Some days I love this business and other days are hard. Really, really hard.

Today we laid to rest our beautiful Celtic Princess, Kate. As the dam to AG Charlemagne I will forever be grateful for the contribution she has made to my breeding program.

I took Kate on from Sam with the intention of working her and selling her on, in 2011. Shortly after my cousin Belle, and her daughter Kelsea, fell in love with Kate and bought her.

As things happen, and life changes I was given the opportunity to lease Kate back and breed with her, thus producing both AG Charlemagne and AG C'est Gendarme.

Katie's best friend in the world was Freddy and she just wasn't the same since he travelled the rainbow bridge last year. This morning, she let us know that she was ready to see him again.

So with dignity and grace and on her terms, as usual, Miss Kate galloped across the rainbow bridge to no doubt meet her main man on the other side.

Thanks goes to Belle and Kelsea for allowing us the chance to ride, breed with and love Katie and to Sam who placed her trust in me all those years ago.

But mostly to Katie, for two beautiful boys, for reminding me that age is just a number, for your snuggles and comfort when I needed it most and for your absolute regal demeanour throughout your life with us.

Fly free beautiful girl. The paddock doesn't look the same but the sky is certainly a little brighter tonight.

“Good training ends where force begins”

It’s so incredibly easy to fall into the trap of using our physical strength to get the horse to do the task we ask of them. The further down the rabbit hole of strength/ force we go, the more we will likely need moving into the future.

However for every forceful or overbearing reaction from the rider in an attempt to train there are 100’s of amazing exercises that simply, quietly plug away at teaching the horse the set of skills and techniques it will need to move forward up the training scale.

So loving reminder, when you feel yourself going down the rabbit hole of using force and strength, ask yourself if there is an exercise that you could use for training this better, and help the horse have a better understanding of your expectation of them.

Sometimes even when you do everything right, things still go wrong.

Miss Tali was scanned twice but one cheeky Lil monkey was playing hide n seek.

Yesterday she aborted a c**t with a blaze and 4 white stockings and a filly who would have been plain black. Born with their angel wings they were laid to rest after Tali had her time to mourn them. Mum is doing well.

Frankie (AG Charlemagne) has proven his ability to throw c**ts and fillies and bling too so I'm taking the positives from this as much as I can. Big thanks to my Dad for letting me keep him for this season.

Nothing else expected for our own mares this year from our boys but a couple still due to outside mares and one Agistee due to foal.

A blessing in disguise given the upheaval that 2021 has been.

What a journey. This business started out in 2003 as Lawrence Park Agistment Centre in Clyde Victoria.

In 2008 I purchased the c**t foal Kamilaroi Gendarme and in 2009 I underwent a name change to Ayres & Graces Performance Percherons to reflect my commitment to a new chapter in my life.

Since then I have produced some absolutely amazing horses of whom I'm so proud. I relocated the business to the North East of Victoria and I have been blessed with some inspirational and amazing people that have helped me during the growth of the business.

However all good things apparently must come to an end. The loss of Gendarme last year, the irrevocable breakdown of my marriage and my current health issues this year have put me in a position where the business is no longer a long-term viable option.

So this season will be the last in our current format and this page will close.

Purebred Percheron stallion Kamilaroi Legion will stand to selected mares from September to November at $1200.

Percheron x TB Stallion, AG Charlemagne (Frankie) will stand to a very few selected mares during the same time at $600.

I will retain Frankie but his external breeding future beyond this season is uncertain.

I will be keeping a few broodmares for personal breeding only.

To every person that has supported me and my dream, loved and ridden or purchased one of my horses I thank you.

I'm so excited to congratulate Tali Silva on the purchase of AG Kyrielle (Oreo)

Tali has had this mare from the breakers and has done such an amazing job bringing her on and educating her and I cannot imagine her being in a better home.

Tears aplenty this week but I'm so blessed that my babies are going to such wonderful homes.

Keep an eye out for this combination ~ definitely one to watch.
