Miss RubyDoo (Ruby) and Munich Marble (Munich) are secret lovers 💘💘. These two are inseparable. Both currently enjoying their spell out in the paddocks, amongst some of the gorgeous Simmental bulls here at Mt Ararat.

We are ecstatic to announce that Mitchell has successfully obtained his full Trainer’s License with Racing Victoria.

We are currently undergoing the process of transitioning from MJL Breaking & Pre-Training to MJL Racing.

In 2021 Mitchell established his own Pre-Training business, after 8 years of working in the racing industry. 2023, is now the time for Mitchell to take the next step and launch his own training career. He aims to follow in the successful footsteps of both his father, John Leek and mother, Andrea Leek.

Horse training has always been Mitch’s childhood dream, being born into a thoroughbred racing and jumping family. He could ride, and jump a horse before he could walk or talk! (Quite literally- pictures to prove it)

For those who know Mitch personally, they can all agree on one thing: he is a natural animal person and incredible horseman. Horses are drawn to him as he is to them, and he will not go to bed without giving each horse a ‘kiss on their nose’.

We can’t wait to have you all along on this journey and watch as MJL Racing gets underway, into what’s hoped to be a long and successful career.

AND SO MJL RACING IS BORN, welcome to THE NEXT GENERATION OF RACING.

🎄CHRISTMAS SALE🎄 OREO Beautiful 7 year old Clydie X Quater horse mare. she’s well built around 15.3 This is an exceptional mare with the world at her feet. Purchased unbroken and is now competent in all basics ready to fit any discipline. She has been ridden by beginners, who have never ridden before. But due to her forward nature would suit a strong/intermediate rider or a beginner with a family of strong horse experience, as she can be pushy on the ground at times. She’s a beautiful mare that is a willing horse. She has a kind jump and loping canter. She has completed many kilometres out in the bush and enjoys trail riding. She has also completed stock work involving moving cattle from pasture to pasture. She would suit any kind of riding and would please anyone. She’s a good doer in the paddock. The first person to come ride and sit on her will buy her. $8,000. Please note this horse will not be sold sight unseen and will need to be ridden by the purchaser. Located Pakenham

Another incredible week ticked off

Been a busy week here at MJL Horse Breaking, in between all the rain showers. This is just some of our beautiful horses we have here all training and learning. Keep an eye on our page to see their progress over the coming weeks.

Jungle Ruler mare coming along beautifully. Getting stronger everyday

A little 3 Year old Clyde X who has been completely unhandled the first three years of her little life. She’s learnt so much in the last two weeks. From learning to lead with pressure and release to now being saddled and lunging for the first time today. It’s only been a short little journey with her so far but so excited to show you all the beautiful horse she’s going to be. Her kind personality is coming right through as she accepts everything thrown at her so far.

Greatful to be able to work with beautiful horses like Joey. He had a few little issue prior to coming to MJL Horsebreaking & Education, and he has now turned into an incredible horse. He has now settled back in with his family the last few weeks and we look forward to seeing him hit the eventing competitions soon. Here’s a some footage of how he started and progressed along his journey here with me.
