Bentley had out his big puppy dog eyes yesterday for us 😍 he knew where the treats lived and was not taking no for an answer 😂 this gorgeous boy is now all up to date for his annual vaccines & heartworm prevention ♥️

We have been diagnosing heartworm infected Dogs quite a bit recently. If your Dog isn’t up to date with heartworm prevention or has ever had periods of exposure they could be at risk.

Heartworm is a horrible parasite that lives in the heart and can cause a lot of irreversible damage.

It’s transmitted by mosquitoes so extremely hard to control and its life cycle is very complicated.

The best prevention is an annual heartworm needle, or if that’s not possible a monthly tablet.

If you are unsure about your Dogs heartworm status and want to get them up to date or tested if they haven’t always been on preventatives please contact us.

How gorgeous is Miss Belle! 🥰 we see this very special girl for senior care, and she has been on an amazing weight loss journey the past 6 months with her very dedicated owner, and has now lost almost 10kg! Did you know that excess weight can greatly affect arthritis and pain in seniors? Belle is feeling so much comfier now all thanks to her Mums excellent care and some support with monthly injections. We love getting to see her 🥰

Did you know that Cats & Dogs have different nutritional requirements?

Some facts about differences:
🐶 Adult Dogs only need to eat once daily
🐱 Adult Cats need to eat twice daily
🐶 Dogs need a balanced diet of Protein, Fats & Carbs
🐱 Cats have higher needs for many essential nutrients

Diets for pets can be very overwhelming, but lucky for us there are some excellent scientifically formulated diets that cover everything our pets need!

Today is Sophie’s birthday. She would have been 36. Days like this aren’t easy for her family and friends, but through the tears there is a glimmer of hope that lives will be saved in the future through the work that Sophie’s Legacy is doing.

We are working towards reducing the occupational stressors that contribute towards poor mental health of veterinary staff, raising public awareness about the sector and working with government and industry to create meaningful change. Thank you for your ongoing support 🌻
