As a veterinary nurse of almost 20yrs, I have a strong passion for the health and mental wellness of our pets. I have adopted all my pets from dire situations and worked to ensure they live a long and happy life, regardless of their illnesses or disabilities. Many I have had to teach how to be dogs or birds again as they lived sheltered lives previously either in unsuitable living conditions or pu

ppy farms. Their restricted lives meant not knowing how to function normally as their species might otherwise. As a small business myself, I think itā€™s important to recognise & support other small businesses out there doing great things. Recently here at Beaky Things HQ I installed a new aviary, where I test drive my toys in real life scenarios & take my product photography so you can see how toys look & work in real life. This beautiful aviary was purchased from Royal Rooster located down in SA, which was shipped up to me in QLD flat pack style. Itā€™s an Avian Palace Small Extension for those wanting to know exactly which one. I got the stainless upgrade with black wire & grey panelling. The walls & roof with the insulated panel upgrade to help with sound reduction for the neighbours & the hot summer sun. Safety entry cage too of course. I am stoked with how this turned out & the quality of the product & customer service from the team at Royal Rooster was 5 stars.

This is a one of a kind patio aviary owned by myself as my former outdoor day aviary for my Alexandrines. I had it custom made a couple of years ago & now am reluctantly moving it on.

This aviary is constructed from 100% 316 stainless & was handmade to my design by a professional stainless steel tradesman. I spared no expense in this design & build. Itā€™s made to withhold the strongest of beaks whilst being constructed in a way it can house safely smaller species also. All whilst keeping safety in mind.

Hereā€™s the specs:

120cm diameter, round shape
160 Roof diameter (solid stainless steel)
206cm high (at roof peak)

Cage door (French style inward opening)
64cm wide
180cm high

Safety entry attachment with safety chain (separately constructed but able to be bolted to front of aviary for additional security)
66cm wide
69cm deep
183cm high

Mesh 3mm thick x 2.5cm aperture (suitable for smaller birds whilst being a large enough mesh thickness to withstand very large strong beaks). The floor is the same mesh, perfect for placing onto any surface!

Solid pest protection wall at base 70cm tall

This cage, as you can imagine given its size & quality build / material, is heavy. But it can be loaded & transported on a Ute. Youā€™ll need 2-3 people to do it. It is located in Narangba (Brisbane).

Exciting things afoot at the Beaky Things new HQ; step 1 for my new bird aviary is underway!
Iā€™m not sure who will be more happy with this, me or my Alexandrines who are currently hanging out in their temporary home, which is very nice, but far too small for 3 on a full time basis! (PS this stunning round custom stainless aviary with safety entry will be for sale once their new space is ready to go, DM me if youā€™re interested!)

And Iā€™m BACK! Orders are flying out the door again, new stock is arriving & Iā€™m almost caught up with the backlog waiting to be packed & shipped.
For those of you who have had dispatch emails & wondering why tracking isnā€™t moving yet, this is due to some courier challenges at the new location. Iā€™m working on these with the courier companies & once resolved youā€™ll see your orders moving quickly like they always have. Thank you everyone for your patience whilst we tackled the big move! Packing up everything including the flock & relocating is quite the task!
