COST OF LIVING TAKES ITS TOLL - 468 DAYS WAITING
Zeus came to us in 2022 as a young 13 month old pup when his former owner could no longer afford to feed and care for him; they felt we were the last option before euthanasia… he was just a puppy!
We took Zeus in and moved him straight to kennels to buy us time to find him a home, but now 14 months later, he’s still there 😢 The current state of rescue (and life in general!) is not helping, with dog after dog coming in, and more surrender requests every day.
Zeus started his puppy training in his former life, but as you can imagine, after so long in the kennels, his training and social skills are now going to need more work. He needs someone who will understand he might not settle immediately, but commit to helping him de-stress and start over!
After all, at just over two years old, Zeus is still a puppy at heart! He loves his toys, playing in the hose water and mud, and any treats he can get. He doesn’t care about long walks, provided you’ve got plenty of room to play at home... and lots of toys!
Zeus is a favourite with our volunteers because of his big smiley face and waggy tail. Not to mention, he's a smart boy and can already sit, lay down, and shake paw on cue 🤩
