Health & Well Being Awareness: You can't have a health and well being conversation without talking about mental health. However, mental health isn't just about having or not having a mental health condition; our well being is affected by all aspects of our lives, and affects how we experience life.
What does mental health awareness mean and how do you promote it? Mental health awareness is the ongoing effort to reduce the stigma around mental illness and mental health conditions by sharing our personal experience, and is an important social movement to both improve understanding and increase access to healthcare.
Studies have proven that organised sports, social activities and being with horses are all things that can improve our mental health. DVHRA recognises that we cover all these, and how these can help our members.
You don’t have to do it alone, organisations and resources are here to help. Our wonderful Risk Management Officer Narelle has compiled this list of mental health providers below, lean on them for support or pass them along to a loved one who might be struggling :)
