FIP AWARENESS 🦠🦠 We have treated 6 cases of FIP in the last week; Tigger, Ted, Puddin, Sid, Sonny & Bear ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 FIP can be fatal in cats if not treated early or correctly. All bar one of these cases came to us as second opinion because their owners had done research themselves about FIP. Thankfully all 6 cases are on the road to make a full recovery 😻 Please share to raise awareness that FIP is now a treatable disease with an 80-100% success rate. Cats do not need to die from FIP anymore, but we need your help 🙏😻

Stevie & Poppy are looking for their forever home 😻 Dr Moira has been fostering them for Southern Tas Cat Rescue Inc) as little Stevie needed some extra care due to a cat flu infection that affected her eyes. They are a bonded pair, love children (even small ones as they spent some time with Dr Grace & her young daughter was their favorite human). They are extremely affectionate, choosing to sit on your lap every chance they get. They would suit being inside only as Stevie is slightly vision impaired & Poppy is very shy. Dr Moira jokes that Poppy is Stevie’s eyes & Stevie is Poppy’s confidence 😻😻 They are both very healthy & are being desexed on Tuesday. The whole clinic is very attached to them & we would love them to find a loving forever home. 😸

The Driftwood Crew (Driftwood Workshop) is almost done at the clinic for the time being 😊 until the joinery items arrive in early June. They have been amazing & we will miss Tilly, Nick & Ash (fondly known by us as Butter Chicken 😉). They have been at our clinic nearly every day for the last 4 months as we renovate the clinic. I think we are actually going to mias them 😺😺 Thanks guys for being so accommodating, working around us & our patients & making sure we could continue to practice through the renovation process. Cant recommend them more highly. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 we look forward to showing off the renovations when they are completed in the middle of the year 😻😻

We are so excited… our extension/renovation works are well and truly underway!

🔨 To minimise stress to our patients and ensure the safety of our staff, we will have intermittent closure periods over the next month or so. Our amazing building team is also working on weekends so that it will impact our regular hours as little as possible.

📆 Our appointments and availability will be reduced as a result, so if you need to make a time to see us for a checkup please book asap. Did you know you can book online via our website? www.catvethobart.com.au

🚗 Parking on site will continue to be limited - please leave plenty of time before your appointment to find an on-street park nearby.

🐱 Please check your cats’ food/medication to make sure you won’t run out during a closure period.

🚨 As always, AES is open 24/7 for emergencies.

Thank you all for your patience during this time. We are looking forward to April and sharing the beautiful new clinic features with you all!

Renovation Update 🤩 🤩

The builders are setting a cracking pace & doing an amazing job 🙌🏻 They have tried to be so thoughtful about the noise & clinic distrupions 🙏🙏

As a result of scheduled works inside the clinic (to improve flow in reception & give us an imaging room) we are going to need to be closed on some week days in March. We are also not able to offer boarding during this time

We will keep you updated on the dates & once again Dr Moira would like to thank you for your patience & understanding while we make these improvements both for our patients & our amazing staff 😻😻

Renovation Update!

The builders are making great progress as we make a new staff room, laboratory & a facility to treat Hyperthyroid cats with radioactive iodine.
We are all very excited. 😆

Thank You for your patience as access to our car park is disrupted & for the building noises (some days louder than others) 😺

We will keep you posted with the progress. 😸

Exciting News as our renovation has started 🙌🏻
Over the coming few months there will be some disruption to accessing the parking spots at the back of the clinic with the particular trades coming & going. There will also be the noises you would expect with a renovation & we just wanted to let you know.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we make the necessary improvements to our lovely clinic 😻

Meet little Fliss 😻 she has won us all over 💕

Poor little Fliss has ‘Pectus Excavatum’ which is a congenital condition causing the rib cage & sternum to be misshapen & sunken into the chest. Dear Fliss has a particularly severe case, with her heart actually sitting on the wrong side of her thorax.

Fliss underwent surgery yesterday to place a splint that pulls the ribs & her sternum outwards into a normal position. This is a very tricky surgery which sadly can have lethal results. Thankfully, all went really well and little Fliss is on the mend. She is feeling so much better today she is even helping Tan on reception 😻

Fliss is being cared for by Southern Tas Cat Rescue 🙏💕
