Chief’s beautiful and amazing foster Mum can’t keep him for much longer & more importantly Chief needs his forever home.
As his foster Mum knows him the best I’ve asked her to write a new profile.
Chief has been in long-term foster care with me, transitioning from farm life to a suburban home. He has come such a long way, but he is not a dog who will settle in overnight. The right owner will need to be patient, understanding, and willing to adjust to Chief’s timeline, not the other way around.
Chief’s Journey
- Progress Takes Time:
Chief is an incredibly loyal, loving dog but that bond isn’t built instantly. It takes weeks, sometimes months, for him to fully trust and relax. His true self, the big wiggly, goofy couch potato, only starts to emerge after about three months in a home.
He needs an adopter who won’t rush him. Someone who understands that he will start off unsure, cautious, and maybe even a little defensive. But with consistency, routine, and patience, he becomes the most loving, devoted companion.
✔ Loyal to a Fault – Once Chief bonds, he is YOUR dog. He will follow you everywhere, even off-lead at the park, always keeping you in sight. His devotion is unmatched, and he thrives on being close to his person.
✔ Much Improved with Strangers – He no longer reacts to delivery drivers and is learning that most visitors aren’t a threat. That said, there are still a few people he simply doesn’t trust.
✔ Loves to Lounge – He enjoys walks and a run, but at heart, he’s a lazy couch potato who just wants to be close to his people.
✔ Knows His Commands & Thrives on Routine – He sits and waits for meals with his foster siblings and is very food-motivated.
✔ Walks Well but Can Pull in Stressful Situations – He’s good on a collar in normal environments but will react if an off-leash dog charges at him.
foster homes needed
♥️😊Update: All pups have found their forever homes👏
Update: 3 male pups still needing homes; all girls have homes
NSW Sydney
Can you believe our unexpected litter of puppies will be ready for their homes this Saturday the 13th as are now 8 weeks old, microchipped and vaccinated. As they have grown, we do suspect these pups are RR x Rottie but can't guarantee the mixing. Lola had a prior litter crossed with a Rottie so we can assume it maybe the same mix and a reason she was surrendered into the pound.
Note: Lola is doing so much better and close to a healthy weight (pic in comments)
4 lucky pups have been snapped up!
I know need 4 foster homes from the 13th for the pups still awaiting a home so their training and socialisation can make them balanced, adaptable and happy pups for their future forever homes.
If you can provide a pup a good start in life and would be interested in helping one of our special unexpected bundles of cuteness, please message the page.
Rescue Girl is feeling safe and seems so much happier! So happy in fact we are becoming playful.
Rescue “Girl”
Girl is still in foster care with our rescue while the owner has until the 5th to come forward.
Girl is feeling much better & becoming playful with Dolly. She has started to digest food better and slowly gaining weight.
So good to see her happy 😃
