We got the news today that there has been a suspected poisoning of birds in the Newcastle area. Today over 50 dead or dying birds, mainly little corellas have been collected from the Newcastle, Carrington and Hamilton areas. Hunter Wildlife Rescue fear many more birds will be impacted in the days to come.

Please call us if you find a bird in the Lambton area that needs veterinary attention - 02 4072 4700

How you can help
1. Notify Hunter Wildlife Rescue for any animal in distress or any dead bird you suspect of poisoning via our hotline 0418 628 483
2. If you have any information that could assist EPA with the investigation please call 131 555 and quote the reference REF-NO-37180 or alternatively email [email protected]
3.If able take any injured animal to your closest veterinarian

Important information about stray pets in Newcastle!This goes through what you should do if you come across a pet that has escaped or is injured ♥️

We are here to help! This involves scanning for a microchip, helping injured pets and assisting contacting the owners. We cannot however keep them at the clinic due needing our cages for our hospital and surgery patients.

Please read through this to prepare yourself for the unexpected stray you might find on the streets 🐾♥️
