Socialising Sunny is way more than meeting dogs and people.
We want to build confidence and calm with him in many situations.
Getting different textures under his feet, out in the rain, mowers, construction is all just a small part of new places we went to explore at the pace Sunny wanted to.
We don’t want to rush or force him into something he may be worried about so take it slowly and pay attention to your puppy.

Taken a bit of time but Sunny has become very happy being in the shower and getting wet that we progressed to giving him a bath.
Knowing he would be happy for the entirety before doing this was very important to us.
With help from a lick mat and peanut butter to make the shower something Sunny looks forward to now and will happily take himself in to.

Ramon update.
See that tiny little bit of fluff sitting next to him? It’s actually a dog. A family dog that will be staying with Ramon for a while. We did some training with them both taking turns and working as a distraction to each other and seperate as it is important they don’t become codependent on each other. They also need one on one time.

Should you take your puppy or dog out for Halloween?
That depends.
We have been taking Sunny to check out all of the decorations around the neighbourhood for a week.
We will take him out tomorrow night as a good opportunity to see people dressed up in all different ways but…..we will make sure he is not overwhelmed or worried. Kids don’t rush at him especially in costumes that could be scary to a puppy and he definitely doesn’t get any treats he isn’t supposed to.
We also won’t be dressing him up as most dogs don’t actually enjoy it. We want Sunny to have a good time so taking space and time and being clear with people is a must.
