Happy Birthday to the sweetest girl in town...Manuka!! This beautiful dog is two years old today and teaches me something about conquering battles every day. She doesn't let severe hip dysplasia slow her down, she's full of joy and a bundle of laughs. We love you Manuka.
PS : Please don't eat our pump wiring again!!!!

Here's Charlie, enjoying the newest addition to New Life Vet a state of the art Companion Laser.
Charlie was suffering from back pain and becoming incontinent, and was usually a little hard to handle at the vets...but he is doing well, and he looks to be enjoying his laser treatment immensely.

I cannot tell you how gratefulI am to have my Happy Henry back after four years of watching him suffer in pain with his back injury and hip problems. Although we have been using the prescribed medication from my regular vet, this only helped with the symptoms but didn’t address the underlying problem.
Some nights he would hide behind the lounge whimpering in pain.
But now he is happy, enthusiastic and active again. After following your exercise and diet program I could see him improving each week.Henry’s future now looks so much brighter. He is only seven years old and now he can play and run as he should for a red cattle dog of his age.
I cannot tell how much joy that brings me and cannot recommend your practice enough.

Hands up who loves rehab!!
This is Weston the Westie.
He is getting a head start on his rehab plan before surgery. We call it pre-hab.
It allows for him to get used to everything he will need to do in recovery for a great surgical outcome.
It also allows for us to build strength in his core before he encounters any surgical discomfort.
Way to go Weston...hope you breeze through your surgery and we'll see you on the other side!!

It has taken Manuka nearly 15 months to get untangled when it comes to walking comfortably on lead. Being patient with a dog with Hip Dysplasia is important as they learn to match your gait and coordinate their own body to suit your pace. This takes time.

Dogs are designed to move...but is it ok to walk a dog with hip dysplasia. Dogs are designed to move and move it or lose it is a key factor in hip dysplasia and maintaining healthy mobility.

Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks.
Jet is going to give it her best shot!! She's starting on a program to move it or lose it. We'll be helping her to gain strength to combat some wobbliness and weakness due to arthritis.

Can exercise therapy prevent the severity of hip dysplasia?
This is a question we are very keen to find answers to...and Buttercup is helping us!
She has just started some PRE-hab exercises to develop her core strength and build the muscles over her hips to help her function better.
