This maybe a very difficult episode of Compass for many to watch, Goodbye my dog.
But it’s a must watch. It’s never easy to prepare for the loss of our loved dog but something we will all go through. I found it very comforting and grounding in my thoughts, feelings and process in loving and grieving my much loved fur family members.
Australians love their dogs. In fact- almost half of us have welcomed dogs into our homes. For many people saying goodbye to these treasured family members is devastating.

That is 1 week to go to enter in this year's cookery comp at Newcastle Show. Entering the competition is great fun and a great way to show the next generation how awesome being involved in the local show.
Local shows only continue each year from the success of the last and the Newcastle show was set to close a few years ago. There is so much to offer at this year's show including entering a competition.

I'm Back!
I am ready to start helping your dog heal and be more K9 Comfortable. I can't wait to see a lot of my regular clients and I really appreciate your support and continued business.
K9 Comfort is more than a massage for your dog, it's an experience! It includes Tellington Touch bodywork and wraps, Infrared Light Therapy, Kinesiology taping for dogs and stretching techniques.
It's mobile... I come to you! (travel expenses may apply if outside Newcastle local area). And I also teach you some simple techniques to help you feel confident you are massaging your own dog correctly.
This treatment is helpful for so many conditions, injuries, anxieties, pain relief and arthritic care, early detection of lumps, post operative healing and for your dog's pure joy!
Initial sessions are 90 mins for $120.
Follow up sessions then vary from 30-60 min apt depending on your dog's needs (cost vary from $50-$80 time dependent).
Extra costs can include the following: -
Rock taping from $15
Body wraps $25
Calming oil $25 (purchase bottle)
Pain relief oil $25 (purchase bottle)
Tasty Turmeric Treats/Homemade specific dietary treats on request cost variable with ingredients and packet size.

I have a background in social work, vet nursing, canine massage and body work + behaviour, training and enrichment.. oh and pet grief counselling.
I had to close my business, K9 Comfort, 2 years ago due to an old hip injury. (also why I took on rescue) It’s been a long painful wait!
THE WAIT IS OVER😊
I’m going into hospital Friday 18th (tomoz) to have a full hip replacement. So, while I’m continuing with rescue I will also be recovering and planning my business reopening.
(Ssshhh and the next NSW raffle).

A painful wait !
Then the wonderful Dr Hamze called and said I can do your op under a private collaboration, in a private hospital 🙌 WOOHOO!
Surgery is set for this Friday 18th !!

Our vets give so much of themselves. So very sad to hear the passing of another vet due to the ‘black dog’.
It is with great sadness we notify our clients of the passing of our dear friend & colleague Dr Rachael Kurtz.
Dr Rachael was a talented, compassionate & caring veterinarian who some of you may have had the pleasure of meeting when she worked with us at Quakers Hill.
Some of our longer term clients may even remember her as a young girl helping out her dad, Dr Blair Kurtz with an after hours c-section or weekend emergency.
It was a privilege to see Rachael & Blair work side by side.
Her warmth & kindness to humans & animals alike left a lasting impression on everyone who met her.
We extend our deepest sympathies to her family, friends & colleagues at Richmond Veterinary Hospital at this time.

Old Pain, New Perspective 🐾
Are you holding onto the pain of losing your beloved pet? Come along to our morning tea and meet some like-minded people who are also dealing with a similar emotional journey. This event is a safe space to share your story and allow yourself some space and time to help move through the grief.
