The young red eyed tree frog (Ranoidea chloris) with a red eye🐸👁
Probably my smallest patient ever weighing in at less than 1 gram!
This little guy had a corneal ulcer and hyphema (blood in the front chamber of the eye).
We treated with eye ointment (he was the size of the ointment tube lid! You can see a dab of ointment on his ulcer in the last pic 😁) and some antibiotics injections (yes we had to dilute the antibiotics down to give home the correct dose 😅)

Tail kinks in super zebra morph carpet pythons 🦸‍♂️🦓🐍
This is a congenital abnormality of the tail bones. The tail contains block vertebrae which means the bones are fused and lack the joint which allows the tail to flex as normal. Some or all of the vertebrae within the tail are fused resulting in a straight fixed tail or kinked if only a few adjacent vertebrae are fused.

Sea snake release!!!!

This video was from a few years ago when we released 4 yellow-bellied sea snakes that had been rehabilitated by Snake and Reptile Rehab Gosford. I never really looked back on the incredible work that Nic Martini and I did rehabilitating these animals and how much success we had over the many years.
In this video we had a diver capturing footage but also monitoring the snakes post release. Thanks to NSW Maritime for the lift out to sea!
Hope you enjoy the footage of these amazing animals!

What an incredible day! Spent the afternoon with at his zoo Welt der Gifte “World of Poisons”. Nils is a veterinarian who mentored me when I was a final year vet student completing an externship in the medicine and surgery of reptiles. Today he mentored me through handling many exotic venomous reptiles that I have never had the opportunity to work with let alone ever seen! He also even let me handle the inland taipan to cure my home sickness 😁

Inserting a feeding tube into a Lace monitor (Varanus varius).
This is a procedure that I had to commonly perform in this species. Every year from mid to late summer these guys would present with head trauma and fractured jaws from being hit by cars. As these guys are carrion eaters, they would be attracted to the roads to feed on other animals that had been killed by cars and in turn are hit by cars.
The feeding tube allows them to be fed while the neurological injuries and jaw and skull fractures heal. They can be in rehab for anywhere from 3 to 12 months to recover.
The lucky ones have these injuries that can heal and wildlife carers that commit so much time to rehabilitate them. Most aren’t so lucky 😢
