We had an amazing first training session today with this sweet girl at Chasing Perfection Dog Training! 🐕✨
Today, we focused on helping Minnie settle into her new home, working on her recall, and reinforcing her “stay” commands. 💪 We also started building her confidence and making sure she feels more comfortable around other dogs – and we are thrilled to share that she didn’t react once today! 🎉👏
We even worked on addressing her separation anxiety, helping her feel more at ease when left alone. 🏡❤️
We’re so proud of how far Minnie has come in just one session, and we can’t wait to see her progress as we continue her journey to becoming the confident and calm pup she’s meant to be! 🐶💕

🚗🐾 Leon’s big moment today! At first, he was nervous about stepping out of the car without his big brother, Apollo—his trusty security blanket. But today, Leon showed true bravery! He stepped out on his own, met Shadow, and explored a whole new walk! 🌟

The best part? Shadow taught him the art of chilling out and relaxing—something Shadow is a pro at. 🐕💆‍♂️ Leon loved the new smells, and we’re so proud of how far he’s come!

So proud of the incredible teamwork between Nala and Imogen today! 💪🐾✨ Watching them in action as they navigated the crowds at Tewantin Harbour was nothing short of inspiring.
Imogen is such a fantastic advocate for Nala, showing remarkable strength and grace as she stepped in to maintain the boundaries needed for Nala’s training. With so many people eager to meet Nala, Imogen was there to ensure that no one touched her dog, protecting Nala’s focus and work. 👏
Assistance dogs in training, like Nala, are not just adorable; they are highly skilled professionals in their own right. It takes immense patience, discipline, and trust between the dog and their handler. Nala is learning to stay focused in busy environments, while Imogen is learning how to confidently advocate for her dog, ensuring that their bond grows stronger every day. 🐕🤝
Both the dog and handler need to develop skills in communication, trust, and managing distractions. It’s a constant partnership, where Imogen guides Nala through challenges, and Nala learns to support Imogen in return. The work they are doing today will make a world of difference tomorrow. 🌍💖

Our Story

Dog Training- $45 for half an hour or $80 for the hour. First time behavioural consult $100 Dog Walking-40 minutes is $25 for the one dog or $35 for two dogs. 1 hour walk is $35 for one dog or $45 for two dogs. IN DETAIL TRAINING DESCRIPTION I am here to help train your dog to become the best dog it can be. I want you all to experience what it is like to not only have a good dog, but a fantastic dog! Regular dog training is the way to go about it. There is no dog training issue too big or too small. I am here to help train your dog, and I have 6 main dog training stages: Puppy Young Dogs Basic Intermediate Control Advanced (off lead) Puppy Dog Training- is for vaccinated dogs 2months-6months of age. It is during this stage of dog training that your dog will learn the basic commands and word association, which is needed to develop your dogs reliability. It is during this stage that puppies are introduced to positive socialisation and confidence training. The skill targets is to get to your puppy to: Relaxed confidence Working and Release modes Marker Cues (yes and no) Puppy Obedience Exercises Leadership Socialisation and Confidence Young Dogs Training- Must be at least 6 months of age. During this stage of dog training you will be training your dog to obey the basic commands in obedience whilst on lead. Through this stage the introuction to basic concepts of socialisation and confidence development training. During this stage the skill targets your dog will aiming for are: Working and Release modes Marker cues (yes and no) Stand, Sit, and Drop Loose Lead Walking On Lead Recalls Focus Leadership Socialisation and Confidence Basic Dog Training- Dogs must be 12months + during this stage. At this stage of dog training they will be trained to obey the basic commands in obedience while on a lead. This stage is to develop word association to a command, not to develop reliability, as they learning how to do the exercise. The skills and targets during this stage are: Working and Release Modes Marker Cues (yes and no) Stand, Sit and Drop Loose Lead Walking On lead recalls Focus Leadership Socialisation and Confidence Intermediate Dog Training- The same commands and similar exercises, however the skills and targets for this stage are: Intro to 'stay' Intro to 'return to heel' 'heeling'alongside handler 'On the lead Distance Recalls' Intro to 'hand signals' Control Dog Training- In control we introduce you and your dog to off-lead work and hand signals. Various combinations of instructions are used and handler begins to disapear out of sight more often, in prepartation for your dog to be a perfect member of soceity with you, or without you being present. There are some prerequisites which are: successfully completed Intermediate, and sound Temperament. The skills are targets for this stage are: Reliable 'stays' 'siits' and drops Reliable 'off lead recalls' Reliable 'on lead heeling' Active 'Food refusal' Strong Handler Leadership Appropriate 'socialisation & Confidence' 'Off Lead- impulse control' under distraction Advanced Dog Training- At this stage your dog will be trained to obey both verbal commands and hand signals at a distance whilst off lead. Your dog will be taught to resist natural impulses, whether you are present or not. The prerequisites for this stage are: successfully completed control, sound tempreament, no sign of agression. The skills and targets of this stage are: Distanxe & out of sight stays, sits, & Drops 'Distance off Lead Recalls' 'Off Lead Heeling' by handlers side Reliable 'Distance Hand Signals' control Strong Handler Leadership Appropriate 'Socialisation 7 Confidence' 'Off Lead- Impulse Control' under distraction

Boarding and Dog Training Commencing June 2018

Chasing Perfection Dog Training is excited to announce that we are teaming up with the amazing Tregolds Boarding Kennel and Cattery! Under this new partnership, we will be offering board and training packages to our canine guests!

Kicking off in June 2018, these packages will be all inclusive, spanning over 7 days where your dog will board at Tregolds and undergo a custom-made training regime that best suits your dog! Whether you just need a little extra help with a particular problem or you are looking for something more advanced, I amready to help your dog unleash their full potential!
