Lots of love and cuddles with mum while it's the weekend...... going to be harder when he has to be crated for the day when I go work.
I know I have to earn money, but gosh, I would give anything just to literally stay by his side until he's better

Bruno has come home today. It is going to be a difficult adjustment and long road to recovery

But we love our boy so very much and we are still thankful he even made it through the surgery and to the point of coming home.

What use he will get back with his back legs - only time will tell.

My precious boy Bruno had emergency surgery on his spine yesterday. We went to see him the morning and he still seems in a lot of distress
We won't know if he will be able to use his back legs again or not.
It's absolutely breaking my heart to see him going through this.
As you could imagine my children and I are emotional and stressed.

In regards to booked jobs. I have contacted some clients directly. Right now I am taking each day by day - maybe even hour by hour.

I apologise ahead of time. If I forget to contact a client about a job or booking or rescheduling a job I'm trying my best to keep up with everything while in such a scared and emotional state

I need to get as many of my jobs done as I can to try to help pay the balance of his vet bills.

Bruno update

I have cried so much today to the point I feel so numb, overwhelmed and stressed to the point I'm struggling to deal with many different emotions.

Bruno had to be taken into surgery today. The cost given to me was $10,000
If that wasn't enough to cause panic, the waiting game to see what my pet insurance was going to pay was an overwhelming 30mins waiting to hear.

Yes they covered some. I have to come up with the rest. Managed to get half of what I needed to pay so they could go ahead with his surgery. I will have to work on getting the other half before it's time to pick him up.

The surgeon not long just called. His surgery went good with no surprise complications (my heart hasn't handled the waiting)
The disc in question that was pushing on his spine area was quite serious
He is on ICU now.
Tomorrow he will go to a ward and may have to remain in hospital for a week. I'm hoping I can see him tomorrow. I will visit him everyday if I can.
Gives me the next week to come up with the remainder amount that needs to be paid.

Only time we tell when he starts to recover how much function he will have with his back legs moving forward.

The scary unknown is eating me up in side.

I need my boy to be okay.
We just lost 3 pets in the last 4 months.
Bruno is everything to me.
He is my emotional support dog. I don't know how to get through this next week with out him

He hasn't left my side since Jasper passed. Now he won't be In my bed at night to comfort me that I'm not alone.

I love you sooooo much Bruno. We need you to be okay, I need you to come home us 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Bruno has gotten worse over night. Too the point that this morning he couldn't walk on his back let's at all. He was dragging his bum and legs on the ground. I knew how bad it was so I raced him up to the hospital. With in minutes having a consult my boy need surgery today ASAL
Surgery on his spine and some discs.

She said most days in early stages have a 90% chance of a great surgery end healing great and walking fine.

The vet Said Bruno was more like in the 50% range of a good outcome

The emotions and stress has been In over drive.
A $10000 surgery
Thank goodness for my pet insurance covering a great deal for it.

Right now I'm overwhelmed tired and eagerly waiting for the vet to call me before he does into surgery and after.

Today has been one very stressful day.

Bruno hadn't seemed himself for a couple of days. Just small little signs. Really started to notice it more this morning, then by late afternoon he had gotten bad. It was scaring me. He was not okay he was in discomfort.
Call someone to come over for a 2nd opinion that I wasn't overthinking or over reacting.
Then with in an hour he just got worse. Was waiting for a mobile vet to come but they just weren't coming. Rushed him up to the 24/7 hospital and by the time we got there his back was arched and his two back legs stiff and he was having trouble walking, panting and breathing harder. He didn't want to sit, didn't want to stand. Hurt walk. My poor boy. My anxiety going through the roof.

Turns out he has a disc issue in his spine causing the discomfort in his back legs making it even harder to walk with them so stiff and straight.

Injection given to him. Anti-inflammatory medication to take home and a strict two week complete rest.
If all goes well and he can rest then hopefully can avoid surgery.

My poor boy. Nothing I did would help him. He actually didn't want a bar of me half the time.
I hated seeing him like that, my heart was breaking wanting to take his pain away for him.

Finally got him to lay down. Took awhile. Finally he seems mostly comfortable and finally sleeping.

I love you so much Bruno. We need you in our life. Need you to get better and be the cheeky, happy, social, cute and funny little dog you are.
