We all know how adorable fluffy Border Collie puppies are, some of you might be wondering if the Border Collie breed is the dog for you. There are lots of google blogs that can help you with the basics, but I thought I would ask my family, what do you think of living with a border collie .....

Things you might like:
🔹Their playful nature (6 yo said he likes that our BC Emma plays footy)
🔹Greets you in the morning and when you arrive home
🔹Loyal and will protect against anything that is not allowed into the yard … even butterflies
🔹Cuddles! While some Border Collies are independent most of them loves to hug and/or lick …. Be prepared …
🔹There is a good chance your BC will be quirky and cheeky
🔹Their independence and intelligence
You enjoy are active and need an exercise buddy
🔹Emotionally sensitive
🔹Very trainable

Things you might dislike:
🔹Jumping up if unchecked
🔹Long hair equals regular grooming … shedding
🔹Living on a farm might result in constant dirty fur
🔹Herding instinct (including nipping) might make its way into playing and could be bothersome
🔹If energy and developmental levels aren’t met, BC will slip into bad habits
🔹Being too clever for their own good
🔹They are not naturally lazy
🔹Often will interrupt you (when you are watering the garden or doing gymnastics says the 9 yo)
🔹You can’t go away for long periods of time
