Submitting your histopathology samples to Vetnostics can help uncover a raft of clinically useful information to inform your diagnosis and treatment of patients. Biopsy results can take up to 2-5 working days (Monday - Friday) from the time of submission, factoring in time for fixation and processing. Additional time is required for cases involving bone (which needs decalcification), eyes and where additional fixation is required for large specimens. Our pathologist will examine the histology slides and send through a report with a description, diagnosis and comment.

If you have a veterinary practice in Victoria or Western Australia, did you know that Vetnostics offers workplace hygiene monitoring which can help you to protect your patients and staff?

Veterinary practices can be a challenging environment from a hygiene perspective and any build up of potentially pathogenic bacteria, yeasts and moulds could be a significant risk to patients and staff.

Vetnostics workplace hygiene monitoring is currently available in WA and Victoria, and can monitor the cleanliness and sterility of your clinic environment, to assist with development of appropriate cleaning protocols and to ensure sterile equipment is aseptic.

The workplace hygiene monitoring is a monthly process which involves the use of contact plates to determine microbial load on cleaned surfaces, and spore strips to determine effective sterilisation in the autoclave.

It is recommended to test across a range of areas within the practice such as high traffic areas (eg. consulting tables and kennels), clean areas (eg. surgical preparation areas and treatment room tables), very clean rooms such as the surgery theatre, along with other sites of potential contamination such as tiles near dental stations for aerosol contamination, sinks, drying racks etc.

Veterinary practices can participate in Vetnostics workplace hygiene monitoring for a full year, or for one month. If you're in Victoria or Western Australia, for more information on Vetnostics workplace hygiene monitoring, please contact our friendly team: https://www.vetnostics.com.au/
