We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support of for our team. We thank them for their kind donation towards our participation at the World Championship in Switzerland 2025 and will be very excited to have them at our Fundraising day at Terarossa Equestrian Center in October.

I'm always blown away by their depth of knowledge and experience and that's why I have been trusting their saddle fitter Leslie Williamson to fit my saddles for several years now! If you like to find out more about their saddles, come and have a chat to them at our event!

Another great local company has come on board for our fundraising day! The lovely team from Opti-Gut will be there for Q&A, have their products available on the day and also put some goodies into our raffle 🥰
They have also kindly donated their supplement to our Team to try. Our horses are undergoing quite intensive training over the next few months, travel a bit more to different arenas and participate in some competitions and clinics. Any support for their gut throughout this stressful time will be beneficial for their overall health and mental well-being. My 2 girls, Nypa and Röskva are going to do a lot of the training with Sir Falinn as a backup. Nypa and Röskva are both very sensitive girls, can be a bit stressy on the float and are going through some hard times as well. Nypa is only young for starters and will need to be build up carefully, she also has to loose a few extra kilos. Weight loss can always mean a bit extra stress on them. Röskva on the other hand is still feeding her foal, means I have to feed her quite a lot to keep up with that and also get fitter at the same time, build up additional strength, muscles and overall condition..weaning is only around the corner - definitely the worst time of the year! There are always tears. Poor babies.... so I am really looking forward to test Opti-Gut on the two ladies over the next few months!

Australia will have a team representing our nation at the 2025 Icelandic Horse World Championships (IHWC) for the first time!

Icelandic horses in Australia are a recent but growing phenomenon, reflecting the global spread of this unique breed. While Australia is predominantly known for its vast population of Thoroughbreds and other breeds suited to various equestrian disciplines, Icelandic horses have found a niche and enthusiastic following in the country.

One significant factor in the growth of Icelandic horses in Australia has been establishing breeding programs and associations dedicated to promoting and preserving the breed. These efforts have included importing high-quality breeding stock from Iceland and Europe to maintain the breed's purity and genetic diversity.
The Icelandic Horse Association of Australia (IHAA), founded in the early 2000s, has played a crucial role in fostering the Icelandic horse community in the country. The IHAA provides support and resources for Icelandic horse owners, organises events and competitions, and works to raise awareness about the breed among Australian equestrians.

In recent years, the popularity of Icelandic horses in Australia has been steadily increasing, with more enthusiasts taking up riding, breeding, and competing with these unique animals. Icelandic horse clubs and communities have sprung up in various parts of the country, offering opportunities for riders to connect, share knowledge, and participate in events and clinics.

While still a niche within Australia's broader equestrian landscape, Icelandic horses have gained recognition for their versatility, smooth gaits, and friendly disposition. They are increasingly seen in various disciplines, including trail riding, dressage, and therapeutic riding programs.

The future of Icelandic horses in Australia appears promising, with continued interest and investment in breeding programs, training facilities, and events. The ICWC presents an opportunity to gain further recognition and interest for the breed across the country.

Looking for your next best friend? We have a couple lovely horses for sale at the moment.
Tvistur is a 4.5year old gelding that has just started life as a riding horse. He is very sweet and inquisitive and lots of fun to ride! He can still be a bit insecure on his own, so will need a confident rider who gives him reassurance out on solo trail rides and is able to further is education. With every trail ride he is getting braver and is enjoying it more and more! Tvistur is 5 gaited and his favourite gait is tölt! He also has a nice big trot and a lovely canter. He is out of Lotto and Lisetta from Camlee. He is about 1,40m.
The other one for sale is 3.5 year old Katla, she is currently doing a bit more groundwork and would be started under saddle later this year if not sold. Katla is already 1,43m! She is out of our lovely Blikfaxa and sire is Sólskin from Pennys Road Icelandics. Katla is a very brave and indepent filly, loves going out on walks and being involved..she definitely has her parents calm and cool temperament. Katla is very uncomplicated and easy to handle. She's been on multiple float trips to the neighbours paddock.
All our horses get regular handling from day 1, are up to date with trims, worming, teeth and vaccinations.

Remember last Equitana? We teamed up with Heiniger Australia for a clipping demonstration on Falinn. We had so much fun! I'm super excited to say, that Susie and her team have agreed to support us at our Fundraising day as well!!! I can't believe, our time in Germany is already coming to and end. The highlight was definitely the competition in Handorf after two weeks of intense training with Andreas Trappe! And we were rewarded with second place in the T4 (loose rein) A-Final!!!

Also for allowing me to ride the beautiful sales horse Stimpill frá Steinnesi, what a lovely boy he is!!!
I have learned so incredibly much about preparing for a competition, mentally as well! And it was such a great event to be at, so well organised and always nice to meet so many old and new friends 🥰

The riders that represent Australia at the Icelandic Horse WC 2025 in Switzerland have to fund the whole journey by themselves. Its is such an incredible opportunity and we will learn so much along the way. To give you and idea whats all involved: we are doing online trainings for the next 10 months, in person trainings Feb 25, travel, accommodation, we are borrowing horses in Europe, transport, a 3 week training camp in Germany, the competition itself, etc etc etc...To help fund the project and also to show our local community how amazing the Icelandic Horses are, we are organising a fundraising day on the 27th of October. We have teamed up with Terarossa Equestrian Center for this event. Not only will you get to see the Iceys in action, but also their stunning black pearls.
We are looking for help and support to pull of an amazing day and also for contributions to our big raffle.

First lot of trainings towards the WC 2025 with our Team Coach are completed. First a clinic at Terarossa Equestrian Center with the best Falinn and last week at our official squad training where I got to ride sweet little Stelpa, one of their trusted school horses. Over the next 12 months I will do as much training as i can, including a trip back home to Germany!
And then hopfully i will be part of the team 🙈 we have a bunch of great riders in our training squad! And no matter the outcome, we will all learn so much along the way!

In 2025 Australia will participate for the very first time at the Icelandic Horse World Championships (WC) held in Switzerland. It is my dream to one day ride at the WC and through that help develop a competition scene in Australia. I made it my goal to train really hard and try my best to qualify for the Australian team. Today the first clinic with our Team Coach started in Warrnambool. Next week we will all go up to Megalong Icelandics for our very first Australian squad training. In a year's time the WC team will get selected. In the meantime lots of trainings and online sessions are on the agenda. My employer has been very understandig with all my plans and i am incredibly grateful for Jess' ongoing support.
Of course Falinn is the one doing most of the training with me here. For the actual tournament we will get to ride horses overseas.

Anna is specialised in training and teaching of Gaited horse, but has very broad knowledge in most other disciplines. Anna takes a lot of time to get to know and teach every individual horse and rider combination to help them strengthen their relationship and bring out the best in them longterm.

This was a very tough decision. I have finally made up my mind and decided to offer Nýpa for sale and keep her full sister Röskva. Nýpa is 3 years old (*19.12.2019), black pinto with stunning markings and half a blue eye. Her parents are Lotto von Svaða-Kol-Kir and Elja from Litli Stadur. Nýpa is five gaited with very smooth and supple gaits. Shows tölt and trot in the paddock. She has done a fair bit of ground work, been on walks and had a few float trips to the out paddock. Nýpa is sensitive and has good energy so she is not suitable for any beginners. Her sister Röskva is a super fun and easy riding horse and I expect Nýpa to be very similar. Very interesting as a brood mare too as she is by the amazing Lotto von Svaða-Kol-Kir (Fizo 8,12). Please contact me for more information. Nýpa has also been assessed by Disa this year.
