Toffee Woods Alpacas Toffee Woods Alpacas was established in 2008. We specialize in breeding white Huacaya for the production of quality fine fleece.

Toffee Woods Alpacas are breeders of fine white huacaya fleece for the fibre market and occasionally open their farm for people to meet these gentle inquisite animals. Recognising the beauty of coloured alpacas, we also run a herd consisting of fawn, brown, grey, black and everything in between. Our 2 herds allow us to both compete in the fleece and show arenas, and provide us with adorable alpacas suitable for pets, lawnmowers and herd guards. Like other animal fibers, alpaca fiber is made of keratin protein with a structure of overlapping cuticle cells (scales) on top. 🐏 What makes alpaca fiber unique is the height and length of these scales. In huacayas, the scales are tight to the cortex, and in suris, they’re even tighter, giving the fibers a silkier, softer feel. 🌟 The longer scales also create fewer serrations along the fiber, resulting in an even smoother, softer touch and a beautiful reflective quality. 🌟✨
