When pets and their people stay together, so much more becomes possible. Bonds grow stronger, hearts find comfort, and hope is renewed.
But, in our community, many are facing hardship, isolation, and uncertainty, making it increasingly difficult to care for their cherished pets.
This is where our care becomes essential — offering the support needed to keep people and their beloved pets together, healthy, and safe.
But as the number of requests for help grows, and with more people relying on our services, our funding can no longer keep up.
To ensure we can continue supporting those who depend on us, we’ve launched our first Matched Giving Campaign and are calling on our community to support us.
Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our matched giving partners — Cooper Investors, Lyka, and a generous anonymous donor — every donation, up to $25,000, will be doubled. Together, we can provide the care that families and their pets urgently need.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. Your support strengthens the bond between people and their pets, bringing comfort, hope, and connection when it’s needed most.
Please support us if you can.

Dr Lissi The Social Hearted Vet had the incredible opportunity to represent both Cherished Pets and Australia at this year’s IAHAIO Conference, focused on the power of human-animal interactions during times of crisis. 🌏 Held annually, the IAHAIO Conference brings together global leaders to explore and advance the positive impacts of the human-animal bond in challenging times. Dr Lissi returned with valuable insights to support our mission, deepening our approach to pet care and community support. Thank you, Dr Lissi, for proudly sharing Cherished Pets’ vision on an international stage!
Here's a brief clip highlighting us! You can watch the full conference recap video here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?mibextid=UalRPS&v=1693585008070452&rdid=Pqofyohyzf8B0G6X

We are thrilled to share our inspiring message from Dr Jane Goodall, highlighting the impact of our work at Cherished Pets and how all of us can contribute to creating a better world.
Both animals and people are at the centre of our purpose. As Dr Jane says, “by approaching veterinary care through this One Welfare lens, it becomes possible to move towards a world that treats all people and all animals with kindness and respect.”
It is only through the generosity of our donors that we can deliver our veterinary social service. If our mission gives you hope, please support us if you are making end-of-financial-year gifts. The need for funding has never been greater for our organisation to ensure no pets and families are left without support.

Dear Friends of Cherished Pets,
Our community’s enduring support of Cherished Pets fills us with hope and gratitude. No matter how you came to be part of our community, thank you for being here. 💙
In the video below is a remarkable lady Elizabeth who we met in 2022. Elizabeth had moved to Geelong to be closer to her husband Ken, who was battling dementia. Having been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Elizabeth reached out to us for help with her beloved dog Lilly, who had leukemia.
Our team provided compassionate in-home palliative care for Lilly ensuring Lilly’s final days were filled with love. When it was Lilly's time to go, it was a beautiful and peaceful end-of-life. We soon realised Elizabeth also needed help with her other dog, Percy. Our dedicated volunteer, Megan, stepped in as Percy's walker, and our wonderful team continues to support Elizabeth with at-home pet care. Elizabeth is now in hospital, so Percy has moved in with Megan for respite care, keeping him out of a shelter and also meaning Percy can visit Elizabeth, maintaining their special bond and giving Elizabeth peace of mind while she receives the care she needs.
Percy and Elizabeth’s journey illustrates the incredible power of compassion and community. Their story is a testament to our mission of helping both people and pets. ♥️🐾
As the end of the financial year approaches, it's a crucial time when many people support causes close to their hearts. We are writing to highlight our need for your support as we now face an urgent reality - our government funding has ended, and donations from our community are needed to ensure everyone can access the help they need.

Happy World Veterinary Day from all of us at Cherished Pets!!
We are the world’s First Certified B Corp Vet! 🩵
Cherished Pets joined the growing community of B Corp certified companies in August 2017. B Corps use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems, and are certified by not-for-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Cherished Pets aims to create inclusive, socially connected and sustainable communities by finding solutions to help end cycles of disadvantage linked to veterinary care in Australia. We became a B Corp because of the match with our own mission to positively impact and transform the global economy into a more inclusive and equitable system. 🐾🌿🌏
