1. Black Percheron X Friesian mare, 17hh approx, suitable dressage, working equitation & possible trail riding.

2. Bay Australian Riding Pony gelding, 13hh approx, suitable show jumping, dressage & pony club for the right person.

3. Palomino Stock Horse gelding, 15hh approx, suitable dressage, trail riding, possibly some jumping.

Lease details: three days per week, days to be discussed; fee includes all agistment, care, hard feed, hay. Farrier costs to be shared.

A phenomenal result in the combined training for Maisie and Buddy at interschools last week. They came 10th out of a huge class of 75 kids, the biggest class of the day!! With a dressage score of 64.69 and 2nd fastest clear round in the SJ, well done you little legends 👏

The Otford Valley Equestrian 🎃 👻 Halloween Party 👻🎃 was epic! Everyone got dressed up, horse and human alike, and the costumes were amazing; convicts & sherrifs; bananas in pajamas; fairies & unicorns; Barbies & Kens; ghosts & reapers; and skeletons, dragons and more.

We got the party started with some hotly contested barrel racing, fuelled by the egging-on and cheering of all our eager spectators and supporters. The difference between first and second place was less than one second!! Everyone is already itching to have another go. 🏇 & Melman made for some great unexpected entertainment 🤠 (spot the giant horse on two feet!) and tiny Jewel made such a great ghost 👻 even many of the big horses were scared 😆

Then the horses went back in for their dinner and we cracked on with eating and drinking the night away. The food everyone brought along was delicious, so much variety - shoutouts to Marcelle for the outstanding homemade Halloween cake.

Massive thank you to everyone who came along and got involved, with dressing up, bringing food, setting up, helping to tidy afterwards etc. More than anything, to have you all along to share the occasion made it what it was. The bunch of people we have here is awesome, you are all part of the best group we could hope to be surrounded by and we love you all!

Thanks so much to for the stunning pics of the day, these memories will stick with us all for years to come, it was that kind of a party.

There are already murmurs of the next party, and Christmas is just around the corner...

The First Annual Otford Valley Equestrian Winter Mounted Games was officially a success! People started off a little reserved, but all it took was an egg and spoon race and then it was game faces on.

Horses, initially unaware of the experience that was about to unfold, soon understood the task at hand and learned the meaning of the start line. The inhand section saw the first contestants learn new games and test their skills, giving everyone a feel for it. Teams of two took to the racing rows, trying to keep horses calm, while also aiming to complete their tasks the fastest.

Blitzing (& sometimes less than blitzing) through bending poles, shuffling mugs, passing flags, and transporting cups of water, amongst other seemingly simple, yet significantly challenging things.

Next the mounted section began and, after having eagerly watched from the sidelines, new teams devised tactics and strategies in hopes of gaining a competitive edge. Sometimes it paid off, sometimes the horses had other ideas 🤣

Barrel racing rounded out the day, where maximum speed was produced!

All in all, massive amounts of fun were had by everyone, cheeks hurting from smiling and laughing for so long. It was a mounted games first for many, but certainly not the last 😉

An awesome BBQ put on by was eagerly eaten by all the hungry competitors and spectators. Super tasty and definitely hit the spot. 🍖😋

The inaugural winners were announced: Kori & Claire in the in-hand section, and Lucy & Claire in the mounted section...will they be ble to defend their titles next games?

Well this was a bit fun! Confidence was created in the indoor arena before we head out to explore a new trail and hit new highs through the Otford Valley Equestrian rainforest on our Friday morning Lesson, Trail and Cuppa Session 🐴☕💕

Our horses went into the valley, up and down the hills, and between thickets of trees, with riders going temporarily quiet while they concentrated on the downhill slopes. Then we all enjoyed a good laugh and chat as we made our way back to base for some delicious biscuits, tea and coffee 😋

It's amazing the positive vibes you get from being apart of this wonderful ride!

🤓 Quiz: How much fun is Working Equitation? Answer: Maximum 😍 !! We had such a great group for this weekend's session and, as is always the goal, we finished with horses happy, relaxed and loads more confident than when they started (riders too!).

We started on the ground, testing the water and checking in with how our horses were feeling about it all, then when it felt right, mounted up and tried everything from the saddle - the ball pit, archery, tarp, big bouncy ball, leg yield pole, pool noodles, sack drag, bubbles and so much more. 🐴 💕

Absolutely can't wait to do this again!

Our Confidence and Connection Clinic held at Otford Valley Equestrian was a hit with horses and humans alike.

Starting with groundwork, we focused on:
• reading the horse's body language;
• how to positively influence them to create a calmer horse;
• giving the horse confidence to go over obstacles even when their human wasn't directly in front of them;
• and developed tools to keep the horses focus on us in times of potential distraction.

With foundation blocks of go, stop, left and right established, riders mounted up and put their new tools to work from in the saddle. Challenges were met and overcome, as combinations used these skills to negotiate various obstacles.

It was so great to see smiles on faces, as people figured out how to unlock certain horse codes and leveled up! 🪙 🐴 🪙

Absolutely awesome Friday morning Lesson, Trail and Cuppa session today.

The horses were relaxed, the riders were happy and the trails, as always, were simply stunning!

Fanta stepped in to take a new passenger on an adventure; Ranger's previous owner was delighted to be back on him for the day; Leo was a perfect gentleman for his lovely person; and Lyric seemed super happy to be hitting the trails and joining in as my lead horse for the day. The forest showed us all its beauty - ancient trees that twist and reach skyward, vines that wrap and drape like curtains, and filtered sun dappling the forest floor beneath our feet.
