Tamaleuca putting out the first lot of rams today. At Tamaleuca we single mate over 20 rams with mobs of ewes around the 55 to 90 head that we have selected for each ram. We know all sires of the future lambs and can keep track on what rams are breeding the desired sheep that suit us and our clients needs.

Good day for it . Finally starting to take out the maiden ewes to the harvested paddocks where they can be joined after they have been in containment yards since early April due to the dry season. Back to the ewes enjoying freedom and our work load easing off.

Wycheproof sale today .
5250 Merino sheep went under the hammer today of which 2540 were of Tamaleuca blood. On a tough year we would like to Congratulate all Tamaleuca clients on the presentation of their sheep and thank-you goes to Elders on a professionally run sale.
A Special mention to the canteen ladies for the lamb sandwiches.

Doing the last lot of crutching today ready for shearing next week.
These are the late lambing ewes most of them ex show ewes.
Its always pleasing to see the past show ewes come in with lambs at foot.
Beautiful wools, seven and a half months growth, doing well in a dry season with lambs at foot ( late July/August drop. )

These are Danni’s Tamaleuca blood ewes. ( Wandown bred ) Shorn today , 7 months wool that cut 5.3 kilos , measured 80 mils in length and reared 125% lambs that sold for export for an average of $223 dollars.
While being a tight dry year in the Mallee at Walpeup.

Tamaleuca had a fantastic day at the Royal Adelaide show , we came home with lots of places , our best was reserve Champion fine wool poll August shorn ewe and our Ram “ Norman “ winning champion fine poll ram and went on to win reserve grand champion August shorn poll ram of the show , Congratulations to Collinsville who took out the honours of winning
