BROOKLYN BOSS takes out the Community Cup at Ballarat!
A tough win today with Jarrad Fry in the saddle — the leader had him off the bridle early, but true to his name, Brooklyn Boss kept digging in and found the line when it mattered. Big effort and well deserved!

Ground Staff Wanted at Katanga Lodge located in Pakenham South.

Racing stable looking for a reliable new team member!

We’re a small, farm-based racing stable with a relaxed environment and a flexible approach to work. Horses are kept in yards and paddocks, and we head to the track only 3-4 days a week—the rest of the work is done at home (bush or arena).

Position Details:
• Full-time, Part-time, or Casual
• Monday to Saturday
• Flexible on start time – minimum of 4 hours per morning shift
• Some afternoon shifts available if wanted
• Extra hours also available for general farm work
• Opportunities to ride quiet horses at home if interested

Duties Include:
• Cleaning yards/waters, filling hay bags
• Changing rugs as needed
• Making feeds
• Cleaning boxes (max 4)
• Checking and feeding spelling horses/mares/foals
• Holding horses for vet/farrier as needed
• Helping saddle/hose last few working horses at home

Perks:
• Opportunity to come with us on beach trips (wading a horse and breakfast provided!)
• Small, friendly team
• Relaxed atmosphere
• Big lolly jar! And a stocked drinks fridge! We also get breakfast delivered a couple of times a week!
• Do as much or as little handling of horses as you like!
• Work as many extra hours as you like!
• Horses are mostly well behaved 🤣

Requirements:
• Must be reliable and have own transport
• High attention to detail
• Willing to obtain a Racing Victoria stable licence

What a way to return! Honarente takes out her first-up run at Sale with a gutsy, determined performance, guided to victory by Joe Bowditch.

Huge congratulations to Chris and Jo from Watson Thoroughbreds, who bred this mare—it’s always extra special when one you’ve bred gets the job done!

Another stable favourite returned to the races this prep with a gutsy 4th over 1500m at Yarra Valley. Settling at the tail on a leader-biased track, he powered home late!

Freezing cold 🥶 but a beautiful morning at Mordialloc Beach for Master Right and an old stable favourite, Napoleon of Egypt. Nile has begun his new career as an eventer and he’s also a fantastic lead pony for the babies.
