A bit of information about lined canvas rugs and how they work and offer maximum breathability.
It is a beautiful sunny day here in Melbourne today, so my horses get a rare winter 'nudie day' so they can scratch and roll. It will be about 17 degrees and quite pleasant so no need for lots of rugs, although if I had not removed them, they would have been okay (just angry at me, because the love their naked days).
The photo of the rug below is the inside at 7am when I removed the rug (not a drop of rain overnight), you will note the moisture dripping down from under the wool. The second photo is of the horse... bone dry.
So, this is breathability working at its best, the moisture that was created by dear old Milo(26yo TB with a thick coat on hot feed) overnight was trapped between the wool and the canvas. As soon as the sun came out it would have evaporated out, through the breathable canvas, although on a warmish day like today there would always be a small amount of moisture (his sweat) sitting between the layers on its way out.
My point is, do not stress about what mechanics are happening with your breathable rugs, all that matters is that your horse is dry(which usually equates to warm) Do not over analyze it, trust the process that has worked for as long as we have been rugging horses.

Thanks to everyone who purchased during our recent sale. I apologize for the delays in shipping, but we have been slammed with orders. We did not have enough stock to actually run a sale(and probably should not have) but decided that our customers would probably prefer the sale prices and to wait a bit for their rugs rather than no sale at all. If this is not the case for you, please contact us and we will arrange a refund of the full payment including postage.
I do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but my girls are working their fingers to the bone to get your orders made and away to you.

When we launch a new product we always test them with various horses first. I am lucky enough to not need to feed out a lot of hay, so have never really needed to use our hay cushions and had the tested by friends. This week I have two ponies in the stable and I have to say, wow, are they great. Keeps the bratty ponies busy most of the night and minimum mess in their bedding.
Rocky(the bay) has given it an absolute caning, he gets very cross that he can’t guys his dinner and paws it(yes with shoes on) and throws it around the stable
