On 17/12/2024, I was called out to a property for a mother python and her eggs. Mum was safely released back into the wild, and the eggs went to our mates Antony and Sharni from .au to incubate.

About a month later, the eggs started hatching, and over the next 48 hours, one by one, the little ones made their way into the world. Such an awesome experience to capture this on camera!

It's that time of year again when we are going to start to see a lot more movement again, especially from all the new little hatchlings starting to come out.

These hatchling come from a property in Palmwoods where mum and her eggs had to be moved for safety concerns.

I was doing some late-night photo editing when we got a call from our neighbour, whose cat had accidentally wandered outside and found a tiny, freshly hatched baby python. Knowing there might be more hatchlings—and possibly mum we decided to have a quick look around. After a bit of searching, we found the mother and five more baby pythons in a compost pile next door.

It turned out to be an incredible opportunity to teach the kids about the local wildlife and the importance of staying alert, as you never know what might be around

Python from Maroochydore we were called out to after it had grabbed a possum.

It's not the first time ive jumped out of a moving car to catch a snake and it probably wont be my last. This is an Eastern Brown we caught at a School in Forest Glen after it was spotted going into the pump room. We arrived litterly seconds after it decided to come back out.

Yellow-Faced Whip Snake

It's a good idea to avoid leaving netting just lying around and to pack it away when not in use, as reptiles can sometimes get caught in it. This isn't just an issue with fishing nets. it can also happen with certain types of bird netting.

It's never easy when they do this.
