Congratulations to Bonnie, Nala and Daisy who have officially graduated from puppy school, and we couldn’t be more proud!

From learning the basics like “sit” and “stay” to mastering leash walking, these little ones have come a long way.

It’s been such a joy watching them grow and learn, and we’re excited for the many more milestones to come! 🎓🐕

🚨 URGENT Warning for Animal Owners 🚨

With temperatures set to skyrocket tomorrow, it’s crucial to take extra precautions to protect ALL pets - including dogs, cats, and pocket pets - from the extreme heat. 🐾☀️

🔸 NO walks at all tomorrow!
Even early mornings and late evenings can still be too hot for your pets, especially dogs with sensitive paws. Asphalt, pavement, and sidewalks can burn their pads and cause serious injuries. Please avoid any outdoor walks altogether and keep your pets inside to stay cool.

🔸 Keep pets indoors during the hottest parts of the day. If you need to go outside, make it brief and keep your pet shaded. Always check the temperature of the ground with your hand to ensure it’s safe for them to walk on.

🔸 Hydration is key! Ensure there is fresh, clean water available for all pets at all times. Small animals like guinea pigs and rabbits are especially vulnerable to dehydration in the heat, so make sure they have extra water in their cages.

🔸 Never leave pets in cars. Even with the windows cracked, a parked car can heat up quickly!

🔸 Create a cool spot for your pets inside. Use fans, air conditioning, or cooling mats to help them stay comfortable. Make sure their resting area is shaded and away from windows or direct sunlight.

🔸 For pocket pets: Ensure their cages are in a cool area away from windows. If it’s safe to do so, place a frozen water bottle near their cage to help regulate the temperature. Avoid letting small animals like guinea pigs be in areas with high heat or humidity.

💡 Hot Weather Tips for Pet Owners:
- Try using ice cubes or frozen treats in your pet's water bowl to keep it cool.
- Consider setting up a “cooling station” for your dog or other pets with a shallow pool of water, ice packs, or cold towels for them to lie on.

Monitor your pets closely for signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or lethargy. If you notice these symptoms, get your pet to a cool area immediately and contact your vet.

❗ Important Vet Update: If you have a non-urgent vet appointment tomorrow, we are able to reschedule for a cooler time.

The heat can cause stress and discomfort for your pets, so it’s safer to avoid traveling in extreme conditions unless absolutely necessary.

We’re excited to introduce Dr. Kobi Batson to our clinic family! 🩺✨

Born and raised in the country town of Horsham, Victoria. Dr. Kobi grew up on a farming property surrounded by animals, and has always been passionate about keeping them healthy and happy. From a young age, she was fascinated by how things work and have always loved solving problems – which made veterinary medicine the perfect fit!

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kobi enjoys running, travelling, wine tasting, dog training, and rescuing sick or injured bats.

We’re so lucky to have Dr. Kobi Batson as part of our team, and can’t wait for you to meet her! 🐾

Dog cookies! 🎄🐾

Try out this pet-friendly cookie recipe from Doughable 🐾🎄

Ingredients:
- 1 cup peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup water

Instructions: Mix all ingredients together, roll out the dough, and cut into fun holiday shapes!

Bake at 175°C for 15-20 minutes!

Any other cats watching the big game?

Is anyone missing this lovely lady? Has been receiving urgent medical treatment and we need to find her owner! This beautiful, friendly and very affectionate cat came to us with a very deceased kitten stuck in her birthing canal. Poor girl was in a lot of pain! She is not microchipped but is so loving that we know that someone has loved her at some stage. Before anyone judges her being undesexed it is possible that she went missing before she was old enough to be desexed. If this girl is yours please call us on 82584838 or pm the page of we are closed, and if not please share so we can find her owners! Also keep an eye out for a litter of newborn kittens- it is possible that she has had some somewhere, and unfortunately she is too unwell to go back to where she was found ( cats are great mothers who will go back to their kittens). We actually dont even know if she has other kittens, or whether this was more of a late term abortion as the stuck kitten did not appear full term. Found in Para Hills area.
