Another hot and buggy day in South Australia after a cold wet snap. Breaking out the UV rugs again after having waterproofs on all last week. Crazy weather. Edit: Rug and Mask by Sunset Rugs.

The time is getting closer for Major Spinabuc (pending) to come home. I am so grateful to Copai Performance Horses & Equine Therapeutics for breeding such a lovely young horse and for the work Ty Bauer from Warrill Park Performance Horses has put in to him so far. I look forward to a long training connection with Ty and Jannah moving forward. Totally recommend the trip to Queensland for your young horses considering you only get to break a youngster once. Ty has an impeccable reputation in the industry for breaking and training. It wasn’t a hard decision to send our precious boys to him. Exciting times ahead.

We had a very special visit from my grand babes today. Pippa has been saying for months all she wants is to sit on Dare to Dream. Well it happened. First time having someone on his back and was an absolute champion about it 🥰🦄

Introducing our Equine guardian in training ‘Willow’. W***y is 19 weeks old and already demonstrating some pleasing characteristics to one day protect our horses full time. It takes around two years to train and trust a Mareema to independently do their job. Again, Rome is not built in a day’. 🥰🦋

Major Spinabuc (River) - beautiful sire Colonel Spinabuc. Not long now until River flows home after being started by Ty Bauer. The plan is that River will be turned out to grow with Dare To Dream (Champ) before both boys return to Ty next year for breaking/freshen up. Rome wasn’t built in a day - we have all the time in the world🦄.

We are changing our page name due to the imminent arrival of our second young gelding. Follow Kyoravale Equine for updates on both our boys adventures as they and I grow and develop 🦄. Dare to Dream (Champ) and Major Spinabuc (River).

I am no longer impressed ...

I am no longer impressed by how high someones horse can jump, I am not impressed by a horse’s dressage score or what their pedigrees are.

I am not even impressed by a horse going bitless, or liberty work or piaffes or Spanish walks or even if someone trains with food or a whip, heck I am not even impressed if someone doesn't even train with a whip or food. To be honest it doesn't tell me much and has absolute no value, to me atleast.

You know what I am impressed by ?
A horse doing something as basic as standing still and waiting, contently without frustration, fear or anger. I am impressed by training that will always allow the horse to "win", with a horse that is soo happy to be a part of the process. I am impressed by a horse that understand that they can say no and says no when they feel uncomfortable. I am impressed by people allowing their horses their most basic needs.

I am impressed by people who are open to learning about how to improve their horse's wellfare. People who want to educate themselves on their horse's hooves, ethology and wellbeing. I am impressed by people who have been willing to unlearn and to grow for the wellbeing of the horse.

I am impressed by willing, calm and positive training for both the horse and trainer. Everyone's goals are different it doesn't mean someone is a bad person if they do not share these values, that is 100% okay. But, there is much more to a "happy horse" then a shiny coat and the absence of physical abuse.

It has been a while friends. Dare to Dream has had a bit of a bumpy road to SA but is thriving again thank goodness. He is growing like a w**d, must be all the rain 😉. When this rain stops we have a new shelter going in thank goodness. Photos of how much this guy has grown soon x
