Good Heart Farm™ is our 200 acre farm on the edge of Tasmania's Tarkine wilderness. We practice Self-Sufficient Farming™ and do research into sustainable methods of food production by working with nature. From 1997 to 2012 we founded Balingup Sustainable Small Farm - Australia's first Sustainable Small Farm™. Our new farm is currently being set up as:
• a Seed Farm for the production of rare Heri
tage and Heirloom Vegetable varieties
• a Food Plant Sanctuary™ for saving rare varieties of food plants
• a Herb Farm for growing culinary, medicinal and magical herbs
• an Edible Plant Nursery
• an Apothecary garden and place of healing, and
• a Research Facility for Sustainable Living, Sustainability, Self-Sufficiency and Self-Reliance . We preserve our own food and eat with the seasons. The property has a variety of wildlife including numerous birds and native marsupials. We have no TV but an impressive library of self-sufficiency, food growing (vegetables, herbs, fruit, nuts and animals), medicinal plants, natural health, environment, cooking, magic and craft titles. We take interns in the growing season to help with weeding, seed sowing, mulching, herb propagation, seed saving, picking, preserving, etc. Beginners welcome. General housework and farmwork hours and starting times vary with the season. Please note we have a policy of no drugs and no dogs.
