Hi all....
Just thought I'd let the Wildlife Community know that sad news has come today.
The amazing Maisie Enders from Carbour has passed away, aged 92.
She was one of the first Wildlife carers in Australia. She devoted 60+ years to Wildlife.
I couldn't imagine how many joey's, injured wildlife She has seen through her property.
Maisie mentored so many wildlife carers, a friend to so many, school kids going to her place to see the wildlife.
Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

Announcement!!!
Firstly I'd like to give you all a massive THANKYOU for supporting our mission to help support our wildlife shelter's and carers within the Northeast Victoria region.
Can you believe its been nearly 4 years since we started.
Unfortunately, we have had to make a very hard decision to close NEVAA.
We will be contacting all shelter's and carers to organise pick ups and deliveries of the donations that are currently here. This alone will be a big task.
I wish I could thank everyone individually, we have met some amazing people along the way, supporting us from overseas as well.
I will be putting up a post of how you can still support shelter's directly, after I get the ok to publish their details.
We have had an amazing journey with you all...
Many Blessings to you all for making an impact on so many lives.

This week has been an amazing week.
Firstly we attended the Old Beechworth Goal for the Social Enterprise market on Wednesday, then today at the Moyhu Farmers market.
Both Myrrhee Primary school and Edi Upper Primary school have been doing some amazing fundraisering for NEVAA and Peechelba Wildlife Rescue Shelter.
We will know how much at a later date when they do their tally.
How fantastic it is to see the young entrepreneurs raising funds for wonderful causes and charities.
Well done to all the kids, teachers, parents and carers. All the kids were very polite, friendly and helpful on both days. Be proud everyone, you have done an amazing job πŸ‘ ❀️ πŸ™πŸ¦˜πŸ¦œπŸ’πŸ¦†πŸ¨πŸ¦‰πŸ¦…πŸΎπŸ¦Ž

FLOOD WATERS!!!
Please be extra vigilant as flood waters are rising. Wildlife will be scared, stressed and they get displaced, running away from the dangers, they'll head for drier ground.

Note your exact location as this makes it faster to find any wildlife.

If you see Wildlife in trouble please contact your closest wildlife shelter. *you can put on your location and search wildlife shelter's near me.

If you find an injured or hit wildlife please stop, check for a pouch and call. If possible pull it off the road.

We are mostly 24/7 and are Volunteers.
If for some reason we don't answer the phone please leave a message or send a text , we could be out rescuing, driving, feeding or catching a quick nap

Safe driving all..

Our numbers here are:

5726 9081 or 0400 847 068

Good evening all..
With all this wild weather, the full moon and lots of traffic please keep an eye out for wildlife.
Slowing down between Dusk and Dawn.
With the full moon the wildlife are out foraging for longer.
The storms, windy conditions and rain also displace wildlife, it also causes little joeys to fall off mummas backs and baby birds fall from nest.

PLEASE STOP, CHECK, CALL & RESPECT OUR AUSTRALIAN WILDLIFE. You could save a life..

We are a 24/7 wildlife rescue service.

How gorgeous are these little babies?! 😍
They may be small but these little Red-browed finches have kept me very busy with feeding them every hour since they came into care several days ago. They have grown so much already and they are beginning to show some beautiful little personalities πŸ’œ

Our little Emma has been with us for 5 weeks now and has put on 46gms.
Today, she's not feeling too good, so we've been having some extra cuddles on the couch today.

If you'd like to help support her and her friends here in Peechelba, there's a post at the top of our page on how to help.

Together we can make a difference in the raising of these beautiful orphans and injured wildlife.

Sad day..

He would of been there all night, nobody cared, nobody called, nobody gave him a chance or gave him the comfort and respect that he deserved.
He was less than 2km from here.

My neighbour messaged me yesterday afternoon about this little man. I jumped in my car and checked and removed him off the road, he's now laying under a tree where he can be mourned by his family and away so that other critters don't get hit.

Please STOP if you hit an animal or see one on the side of the road. (Put your hazards on)

LOOK if it's safe to do so, to see if it has died and if it has a joey. (Joey could be laying in the grass)

CALL your local wildlife and they can advise you what to do, we are a 24/7 service. (I'll make a separate post regarding this)

RESPECT our Australian Wildlife. If you are able please move the animal off the road, this also ensures that any other animal doesn't get hit.

SLOW DOWN between Dusk and Dawn when animals are most active.

I'm sorry little man.. Rest peacefully πŸ¨πŸ’”

Cleaning and disinfectanting morning here.
We need to do it every time an animal has been in them to help prevent diseases spreading. I also do it with some of the donations before they go to carers as we don't always know where they've been.

THANKYOU!!!
To those who have made a monetary donation, we are very grateful.
For the month of February $270 has been deposited.
We have used this to purchase specialised wildlife milk formulas.

Just to give you an approximate idea on the cost.
950gm tin of Di-vetalact is $40
1.25kg of Kangaroo is $50
1kg of insectivore $24
250gm of Kangaroo formula is $14
Then there's postage on top of that.

The 1.25kg box of Kangaroo formula will usually last 2 weeks or a bit more for 1 Kangaroo.

Thanks to Shaz, Chris & Em, Karen, Robyn and the Geocaching group for making this possible.

Many Blessings to you all πŸ™πŸΎπŸ¦˜πŸ¦‰πŸ¦…πŸ¦€

Good afternoon all..
Sorry for being a bit slack on the posts lately.

Before Christmas I damage the sheath around my wrist tendons possibly tendons as well). I've been put into a cast as it wasn't healing with just a splint as I wouldn't let it rest.
Anyway seeing an OT hand specialist, cortisone injection to be done ect
I have to wear this 23/7 (I can take it off to have a shower). Unsure how long recovery will be but talking at least 8 weeks unless surgery is required.
Very grateful to have my family here to help out.

As most of you know, apart from NEVAA and trying to get donations for the wildlife and animal shelter's and carers, we also have our wildlife to care for plus rescues at Peechelba Wildlife Rescue Shelter,

Kind regards Tan πŸ™πŸ’š

Good evening all...

Really long post but an important one.

Thank you to those who have given donations, monetary, and supplies.

We are currently inundated with linen/towels, so we would appreciate it if you could hold off on dropping items off.

The items we REALLY NEED are:FEED and medical lotions!!!

All Wombaroo Milk formulas eg: kangaroo, possum and wombat, all ages
Di-vetalact
Impact
Insectivore
Horse and pony mix
Chick starter
Turtle pellets
Wild Bird seed
Parrot seed
Sunflower seeds
Weetbix
Rolled Oats
Vytrate/electrolyte
Vet wrap
Puppy pads
Cotton wadding/wrap
Gloves, small and medium
Baby wipes

Medical ointments/creams like Dettol, soov, Flamazine, Betadine, pain relief, chlorhexidine,
Syringes, needles, vitamins, disinfectant,

You can either purchase yourself or make a monetary donation so I can make an online order for specialised milk formulas.

I use "Vet n pet direct" or "Vet products direct" for products needed if you would like to purchase on our behalf and get it sent out to us, then we can distribute to the wildlife shelter's.

Please contact me if you'd prefer.

Unfortunately, incoming funds are very low (approx $70 per month). we do prefer that you could physically buy the product on behalf of the wildlife/animal shelter's .

Currently, shelters and carers are struggling to feed the orphans coming in, orders are on backorder for them. I would really like to have supplies here for such occasions.
A lot of shelters do not have the time to apply for grants or funding. Their time is spent caring/cleaning and loving the wildlife, let alone trying to find people/companies/businesses to help support our Australian Wildlife.
Our aim when we first started NEVAA 3 yrs ago was to help support all wildlife/animal shelter's and carers within the Northeast Victoria region all year around and to have supplies here for any disaster.
We have certainly been struggling for the past year to help those that need it.
As all shelter's are self funded they could really do with some help.
