As the day draws to a close I want to say a massive thank you to all who attended the Black Dog Ride Penrith 1-Dayer . We rode today despite the lingering poor weather for a cause of raising awareness of depression and su***de prevention. And the day couldn't have gone more smoothly if we tried I think.

I chose a simple yet impactful route that took us through Blacktown, Windsor & Penrith which many thought would be a poor decision based on the amount of traffic lights that would cut up the pack. And they were right. But this isn't any old ride. We WANT to be seen by the general public because we WANT to start conversations about WHY we're riding. Even in the poor weather. And that's exactly what it's about and why we did it. Not because it was an easy route but because it's where we'll be seen.

But the day would be nothing without you, the attendees. Your registrations, merchandise purchases, donations & raffle ticket sales are all funding mental health programs that make a real world difference to people with real world struggles. Hearing some of your personal stories have been both touching and motivating for the event's progress and continuation.

So thank you and I will see you again for next year, your Black Dog Ride Penrith 1 Dayer Coordinator Brendan Moncrieff.

We've had many questions this morning if the ride is still going ahead despite the weather?

Our answer is easy, we ride.

Those struggling with their Mental Health don't wake each day, assess the weather and decide how they'll be that day. It's a 24/7 struggle, with the weather sometimes a trigger for those struggles. So we ride.

Black Dog Ride is about raising awareness of the challenges faced by those struggling with their Mental Health. Breaking down the stigma associated with those struggles, and encouraging everyone to start conversations that may save a life. So we ride.

We know that's not for everyone, we all understand that and respect that. But today, we ride, and we hope to see you all there.

Check in starts at 9am at Harley-Heaven Western Sydney and all plans are a-go

With exactly 1 week to go, we've received an abundance of merch and the 1 & only Penrith 1 Dayer custom saw blade which will be an auction piece on the day at the Wallacia Hotel.

Please ensure you bring some cash or have some $ in the account as the saw blades are notorious for not going cheap!
