⚠️WARNING! BLUE BOTTLE JELLYFISH! 🪼
We have had FOUR dogs present as Emergencies in the last 2 DAYS after eating Blue bottle jellyfish at the beach.
Dogs that ingest blue bottle can be stung in the mouth and throat and these stings are VERY painful!
They will often drool, retch and vomit. Sometimes they will want to drink a lot of water or munch on grass to try to help to soothe their pain.
Occasionally the throat can swell and interfere with breathing.
If you are worried that your dog has made the wrong snack choice, please contact us immediately for supportive care and pain relief.

Some of you may have already met him in consults, but for those who haven’t, meet Peregian Spring Vet Surgery’s Christmas Helper! 🎅🏼
Dr John is joining our team as a locum vet over the holiday period to allow our hardworking vets some time off to rest and relax with their families and friends.
Dr John is a local to the Sunshine Coast with over 30 years of veterinary experience. Since selling his own clinic 9 years ago, he has been helping out vet clinics Australia wide as a locum vet.
We’re very thankful to have Dr John join our team… and Sid is loving having a bit of ‘Bro Time’! 😂

It was ‘all hands on deck’ when gorgeous St Bernard, Olive, was in for her desexing surgery with Dr Barb. Weighing in at over 60kgs (!) Olive definitely made her presence known at our little clinic for the day.
She had the VIP treatment, including a second surgical vet (in Dr Ange), an added extension to the surgical table (to accommodate those big, long legs!), a private deluxe post-op suite, TWO bags of chicken in recovery, and the biggest post-op E-collar we could find (modelled first by Dr Barb to show it wasn’t too scary!😂).
What a gorgeous girl, proving very solidly that BIG IS BEAUTIFUL!!! 🥰
