It's going to be important for these puppies to be comfortable with being groomed, and with that comes being comfortable with the Blow Dryer.
Most Blow Dryers are pretty loud and can spook dogs if they are not used to them, so yesterday, in a short 5min session, we started simply by slowly increasing the dryer's velocity from the lowest setting until the sound was quite loud (but not at its maximum). Obviously, I work within the puppies' comfort levels, and I'm happy yo say that nobody was the least bit worried. By the end of the session, they were experiencing some indirect wind from the nozzle being waved around while most were toddling off to go to sleep. This exposure will continue until they leave for their new homes.
Lunchtime today seemed like the perfect opportunity to get the puppies outside for the very first time! They were only up and about for 15mins but boy did they have a fabulous time! Everyone is now sound asleep (still outside) recharging for their next jaunt around the big kid enclosure!
What better time to start getting the babies used to being brushed than to get started while they are distracted! A week ago we were here, light brushing while occupied. Now puppies get a warm damp towelling daily followed by a full brush. This includes their chest, head, ears, and all their little leggies. Not one protest from these little legends!
The pups are used to this sound now, as the vacuum passes by daily. Today I remembered to film it! Nobody even blinked an eye!
Puppies have started getting into some puppy mush over the last few days. Dime, Buck and Dollar demonstrate how they are learning to enjoy soft solids from an Emat from Rover Pet Products while Cash watches on from the background ๐ฅฐ

Noodle had his first dryland sledding run this morning. Huge thanks to Mel for taking him around and getting a short video of him!
Noodle definitely thinks this is a sport for him!
Sorin also had a run, he came with me on scooter, we went the wrong way and our short run was about an extra kilometre long ๐๐๐
Sorins video from his try at Bale Hunt.
Looking forward to trying again soon!
Rune and Sorin had a go at a new sport to WA called Bale hunt where they must find a scent in a tube hidden in hay bales.
Both dogs had a try this morning and both did really well! Rune was quick to find the hide in the hay bales!
The video shows her progression in just 1 hour of training!
Super proud!
Sorin's video will be posted separately, for some reason I cannot add 2 videos to the 1 post.
Rune learns agility foundations.
11 Months old and Rune is about to start regular agility foundation classes.
At Seniors training last Thursday there was a small puppy course set up so we had a little play. Very proud of Rune's progress and enthusiasm. I couldn't ask for more from her ๐ฅฐ
