The Rise & Rise of Snitzel heir apparent Ducimus has been nothing short of exceptional planning with the Western Australian based second season sire being represented in both sprinting black type races to middle-distance staying calender pinnacle carnival races.

Last year’s Champion First Crop Sire, Ducimus places in a competitive tally in the Top 3 Leading Two-Year-Old Sires in Perth behind established sires Safeguard and I’m All The Talk. Overall, he sits in 19th position on the Australian Second Season Sire Premiership galloping well above the standard deviation scoring for winners to runners at 42%.

Headlining his first crop three-year-olds is the emergence of middle-distance stayer Lead By Example, a genuine contender for the WA Oaks, a podium stakes race for three-year-old fillies run at Ascot Racecourse at 2400 metres. He is again at the top of the two-year-old early black type betting markets with the lightly raced Define Beautiful breezing up also at Ascot, winning in a dominant display of precocity.

Define Beautiful has created a well, planned beginning for her sires’ second foal crop, on and off the track. Purchased by her trainer Trevor Andrews at last year’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale for a respected $70,000, she holds a nomination to this seasons Group 2 Karrakatta Plate.

His untapped ability to upgrade his mares is well documented and the versatility at being able to produce tier 1 metropolitan class two-year-old winners through to stakes performers at a mile and beyond is a rare and unique ability for any sire.

Notwithstanding his modest service fee, books in the lower half of WA Premiership Two-Year-Old Sires, Ducimus is set to Take The Lead as Rivercrest Park’s cross continental sire.
