Last month Squat, then Molly, went on heat. I was doing so well keeping Spud separate from them.
2 weeks pass by, keeping them separate, Squat is no longer on heat, Molly is getting to the end, I get back home and let Spud out. It seems he's no longer so interested in her. Ahhhhh, I feel a little relief. I go inside for 10 minutes then come back out just to check. They're locked. I mentally kick myself. One job Halimah, you had one job 🤦♀️
They only mated once, but true to form, the ultrasound today showed that Molly is pregnant with 5 puppies. He's so reliable...
The good news is that there's one last chance for anyone who knows just how awesome Spud and Molly's puppies are. These will definitely be the last ones! She will be getting the snip after this lot.
Due date: 8-9th January
Spud loves getting under the covers sometimes to play. None of the others do this.
I love watching his fun.
I know I haven't posted much lately.
There's been a few changes.
I decided earlier this year that I'll stop breeding indefinitely. The reason is that there's too many puppies being bred and breeders should never be part of the problem of unwanted puppies. All of my litters have found good homes but I have definitely noticed changes in demand and lots of anecdotal evidence that other breeders are struggling to sell puppies.
I love the whole process of breeding and hope to pick it up again in future.
I will keep this page and I still want to do the annual get together for all of us. CPL BBQ event is SUNDAY 20TH OCT and I hope many of you can make it.
I'll be posting some photos over the next few days of events and info I missed out on sharing the last few months.
Mum and daughter video for fun (Molly and Moopsie).
Moops has now decided the empty sardine bowl is hers.
These puppies love sardines in springwater
We're having poodles!!
Mop is pregnant with 3 puppies ❤️
This will be the last litter we have for a little while. I've made the decision to stop indefinitely while I believe too many breeders are breeding these kinds of puppies at the moment. I don't ever want to be part of a bigger problem of unwanted dogs. I've been hearing anecdotal evidence for some time that other breeders are having difficulty selling puppies. It's time to slow down!
Squat turned 2 today.
I took her and Mop for a long walk and play with a friend and their dog. We went to Herdsman Lake. It's one of my favourite nature places to walk my dogs in the metro area. It's just so beautiful.
They couldn't be happier!
Playing puppies!
3 weeks old today!
The puppies have been putting on a lot of weight. It's like a constant race getting enough food into Squats small body. So I offered them canned puppy food today. They loved it. I don't usually start pups on solids at 3 weeks but I think it's best for both mum and pups.
They're eyes fully openness earlier this week and now they're walking!
3 weeks old today.
EDIT
They were not 3 weeks on this day. Sorry guys I've been losing track of days!
Went to get an ultrasound for Molly today.
We're going to have baby cavaliers!
