Using muzzles allows us to help a dog to grow out in the public, limiting risk.
At some point you need to put into practice what you have learned with your trainer in as contolled a manner as possible. This is about introducing your dog gradually to their triggers. All these are done with myself

Why some dogs should wear muzzles. Part 3.
The first clip I put alot of trust in Rosie to tell me Lexi was ok. I hadn't had time to muzzle train Lexi an adolescent.
We want dogs to enjoy wearing their muzzles and have good experiences.

When we are working with big powerful dogs, muzzles lower the risk and lower anxiety levels all round.
These dogs are learning to make new habits. This takes time and consistency. Dogs will default into their old habits. Muzzles give us that buffer.

Kaos's story is typical of dogs spending long lengths of stay in a kennel environment. He was struggling mentally to keep it together, as do lots of animals in kennels. Reactivity on lead was a big one, not being able to regulate his play, grabbing at arms when frustrated, which is scary for the volunteer. Flick and Mark answered one of the many requests for a foster carer and the rest is history. They have dedicated the last 6 months into allowing him to decompress, managing him when needed and put the time into weekly private training sessions. This is the outcome so far. We are all, very happy ❤

All of the dogs shown in my groups are rescue dogs. Some can be reactive depending on the other dogs reaction. Kaos has frustration on lead which is common with lots of dogs. Owners are learning weekly how to handle them and are invested to help their dogs to lead the best life they can. Investing time to read body language is crucial to their growth and doesn't happen over night. Your rescue dog is an investment and must be given the time, respect and patience to be helped to rehabilitate into your family and their new environment. Respecting your fellow members of the public and other doggie friends is the responsible thing to do. Please give them some patience. ❤

A beautiful Easter Saturday for a group walk at Jarrahdale railway. All of these dogs have reactivity which will never completely go away. Owners have learnt how to manage and train it on a daily basis. Introducing their dogs to new dogs/people and bikes.
I can give you the skills on how to do this using positive reinforcement. Enquire at [email protected].

My easy group.
Now playing off lead. Meeting other dogs at parks at a quiet time.
Introducing gradually. Dogs and their humans learning polite meets and greets.
Education for the owners is the key to success.

Welcoming little Peaches (cavoodle) to an easy dog group walk. This little girl has been struggling with many things in and outside of the home since a pup. Peaches is now 1 year old. After finding Wolfies she is growing in confidence in leaps and bounds and has now joined a group. Mozzie and Poppy helped to show her the outside world isn't that scary.

Doggie doors can be scary. We had already done a few steps prior to this video. Some dogs need to habituate to using doors gradually starting by holding the flap up completely with no pressure on their heads, backs etc gradually putting the door down. It depends on the confidence of your dog. You need to go at their pace. Poppy was more scared so needed treats. Riva was motivated enough to follow her friend through. This needs to be done multiple times and lower the door a little step by step until your dog can push the door itself

Lovely Lois and Nina are very similar dogs and are reactive. These guys can settle quickly once they have been introduced correctly as you can see. They are learning how to settle at the end of the walk. Enquire about a group walk.
