A few months ago, Jack here could not be trusted off lead, he’d pick and choose when he wanted to listen and completely switch off to his handler when he saw another dog!
Now Jack is thriving with the freedom he has been given due to the reliability in his commands!
Check out this long distance recall away from sniffs!
Not only that, but Jack is now progressing to off lead obedience!
We are super proud of how far Jack and his handler had come through their training journey!
Would you believe that young Jack here has the tendency to be frustration/leash based reactive towards other dogs? You wouldn’t even be able to tell that there was also a dog behind the camera either he was so focused on his Heel walking!
Jack has also recently moved into the “Proofing” stage of his training, which means introducing high level distractions and increasing expectations (though due to the heat, we kept it easy today!)
Cant wait to see where this boys trainings at in 6 months time!
There’s is a stigma around dogs that wear muzzles! People tend to assume that a dog is “aggressive” though there are many reasons a dog could be wearing a muzzle!
In Jacks case, he has the tendency to pick things up in the garden that he shouldn’t! After a few vet trips Jacks owners decided that teaching him a muzzle command would be beneficial! That way Jack can still be involved in outside activities that aren’t directly related to him like gardening!
Jack has recently moved into the second phase of freeshaping his muzzle which involves waiting for a little more duration in holding his nose in!
He’s such a smart boy and you can see he absolutely loves his Freeshaping sessions!
Taz has moved into the Proofing stage of his training! Lots of distractions around and yet he’s nailing his Heel as well as his recall!
Only 6 months old and only going to keep getting better!
Macy has recently moved into the ”Proofing” stage of her training! Which means ramping up the environmental distractions! She did brilliant with all the new distractions she’s never seen before and also did a great job doing some settling work at a Cafe!
We are so proud of Macy and the progress herself and her owners have made in the short few months of working with us!
We know that taking your dog for a walk is a key part of dog ownership so let us help you make those walks enjoyable and easy for you!
Giving Enzo structure and expectations on his walks by teaching him a Heel command has helped him grow into a lovely balanced dog as well as making his walks fun and enjoyable for him by not just physically stimulating him but mentally as well!
Woohoo! Check out our two Board and Train dogs Loki and Rolo practising their Heel walking together! Pack walks help encourage dog neutralisation as well as help reinforce the Heel position when another dog distraction is involved!
Only a week into their 5 week course, they are both progressing beautifully!
After a negative experience at a vet that involved his Muzzle, Bailey became very avoidant and shut down whenever he so much as saw his muzzle. This experienced also leaked into his halti becoming a negative association.
We always want our dogs to want to work with us and be engaged in the session so to help build Baileys confidence again we started Freeshaping any positive interactions towards his muzzle.
We honestly arent surprised that Bailey clued onto his free shaping exercise so quickly, check him out smashing his Freeshaping! The next step will to be to introduce a “muzzle” command and increase the duration in which he holds!
Day 2 of teaching Loki his Heel command and he is blowing us away with how quickly he is picking it up!
When teaching a command, we like to originally pair it with a physical cue to help the dog understand faster! Once the dog moves into Training stage, we begin to phase the lures and body cues out to get that snappy verbal only commands!
Check out Gus and his handler working on his Loose Lead walking!
Gus usually has another handler but today his wife decided to give it a go and they both absolutely smashed it!
Gus used to be a freight train on the lead and was very leash based reactive but after a few lessons with Supreme Canine, he is progressing in leaps and bounds!
Go Gus!
We are so proud of the progress Rue is making!
Her owners are working so hard on her Heel walking and her dog desense!
From pulling on lead and reacting at every dog in sight you almost wouldn’t know there was a dog behind the camera!
Rue has progressed so nicely with both Heel and Desense we have now started on Recall!
Watch this space to stay up to date with Rues progress!
Here Rue in her second lesson with Supreme Canine working on her Heel!
When we first met Rue she displayed frustration based reactivity towards other dogs and occasionally people! Though she means well and she just wants to say hi her reaction can look a bit intimidating!
With her reactivity, also came pulling on the lead when walking but her owners have been working so hard with their training and the progress she has made in short period of time has been fantastic!
Keep it up guys!
Nothing quite beats a late night pack walk! 💪
Check out Bluey working on how to stay focused and engaged with his handler around other dogs!
He did a fantastic job at ignoring Karma and working for his handler! In need of some fine tuning but this dog is always Impressing us!
✨ Impulse Control ✨
✨ Impulse Control ✨
Does your dog struggle to think before they act? Do they barge through doors, snatch food or jump all over everyone? This could be due to a lack of impulse control!
Impulse Control teaches our dogs to not act on impulse but to think before they act 🐶 this is also helpful when working on any sort of reactivity your dog may display.
Sitting and waiting for food is just one way to excercise your dogs Impulse Control, although your dog wants the food, they should be able to hold a position, ignore their impulse and wait for their release command.
If you think your dog may need some help with Impulse Control, please don’t hesitate to send us an email at:
