At 10:30pm I received a call from a panicked girl saying they have a snake in there backyard upon arriving they said it has moved a quick look around the corner I found the culprit this nice moaning frog.

After I gotten the frog and showed them they told me they where pouring water and vinegar on this frog thinking it was a snake. Worst thing you could possible do because they breathe threw there skin.

If you see a snake do not try and agitate it poke it pour stuff on them that's one way to get bitten

Dugite (highly venomous)

Kids saw a snake go into the garrage I told the owner to close the roller door so the snake had no escape so I could catch and relocate to a better suited area

You don't know how much humans destroy bushland when you try to relocate a snake. This snake would of been living in a bush stretch no longer then 50m wide and 100m long forces the snake into suburbs.
After looking on maps I found a nice suited area of a dense bushland 3.5k away from where the snake came from so he can live be happy and not to have to worry about humans and cars untill they destroy that bushland to build more houses.

Dugite ( highly venomous)

Very interesting callout today. I was only just talking about dugite eating each other the other day.
Not what I expected when I attend this callout
A 1.5mish dugite snacking down a yearling around the 50cm mark

30/11/2023

Something you won't see everyday.
A bigger dugite eating a smaller one yes snakes will it each other but to see it actually happening is rare dugites main food diet are not other snakes but it can happen!

Dugite ( highly venomous)

Now this is a monster dugite! I had a call from a family saying they have a dugite in there chicken coop. After being told it didn't have a wide head I was thinking typical 1.2m dugite how I was wrong! Now this chicken coop didn't have much room to move around in after lifting the slabs up I seen a good size dugite it managed to go outside into a sand pile once I located the snake and grabbed its tail I truly saw the size of this dugite!

Thanks to Medina Snake Man - Snake Relocation for coming out and giving me a hand with photos and videos.

Who wants to see the release video!

Tiger snake *highly venomous*

This how I did not want to start my morning. I had a call last night about a tiger snake in there back yard after giving some advice and suggesting for me to come out because the snake would most likely will still be there. And the owner having two dogs that this can be an issue for the snake and the dogs.
Turns out this morning the snake was still there sunbathing in the backyard after going down and getting the snake I did not see the dogs at all. To be told 40mins later one of the dogs has sadly passed away at the vets.

Please people if you have pets and you have a snake on you're property please listen to advice of snake catchers even if we do a check of the yard to make sure it's safe for you're dogs to make sure you're dog is not in harms way. $50-100 is not worth you're pets life when this situation could of been avoided.

Tiger snake (highly venomous)

Had a callout yesterday for a tiger snake saying hello through a window
Upon arrival this guy wasent acting like a tiger snake ( defensive behaviour ) when I tried to move it wasent a great movement like it didn't have energy to move

Further inspection of the snake I noticed the lumps along its back originally thinking it was skin worms, back was very stiff and very sluggish movement for a tiger snake

So I made the call to take him to the vets to get a good assessment

The vet ended up taking it in for further scans and x rays scans .the snake then will be given to a rehabilitation person

This has to be one of the nicest dugites I have seen it's not you're typical plain brown ones we usually get! This fella was in a lady's back yard soaking up the sun

Hopefully alot of people can see this video. The bloke is a highly experience snake relocater with thousands relocated. Unlucky situation just shows if one of the best can get done then so can the people who try and kill snakes or mess with them .

Please do not attempt to kill snakes 90% of bites are from people trying to mess with a snake. Please call an experienced snake relocater to come out

And if you think a call fee is to much this is how dangerous our job is.. hopefully this bloke will have a full recovery

Had a call out passed on by Elapid Reptile Removal about a snake in the back yard.
On the phone the guy wanted a idefication saying it's black and yellow I was quick to tell him that it's a tiger snake and they are more of aggressive snake these snakes are ones to not back down espically when threatened.
I made my way down to wellard and was met with this nice healthy specimen of a tiger a snake. One of the snakes I will more tend to offer the catch bag for himself to go in there nice and peacefully 🤣 this was not the case with this snake after 6 attempts of striking the bag he finally went in and made my job alot easier

I had to post this. This person is so lucky they didn't get tagged this is in the brown family highly venemous eastern brown cousin to our western brown these snakes are not a playful snake at all and usually will give you a crack
Never play with snakes espically teach you're kids that coming across any snake in w.a is 9 out of 10 will be either a dugite gwardarr or a tiger snake all highly venemous and can kill you
Call a locale snake catcher if its on you're property the $50 is cheaper then being on a hospital bed throwing up and amazingly sick

First callout for the season .finally one when I'm not at work

Species ( black-headed monitor )

Location (wellard

This little guy played the cards right when it came to capturing him . He was chilling on a pillar outside patio trying to soak up the rays and heat and to stay away from two dogs. Usually these reptiles won't let you get near them and they are unbelievablely fast runners! He was located down the road to good section of bushland

This little tiger snake relocation went quick and easy that means less stress on the animal until it gets released to its new home . The owners kept an eye on it the hole entire time what made my job alot more easier it took me all of 2 seconds to get it into the bag net to be removed

Tiger snake ( highly venemous) should be taken with care these snakes can have an attitude to go with them also. Always keep a safe distance from the snake but keep an eye on them because a snake can move spots in a split second and make our job harder to locate it or sometimes the snake has moved on somewhere else

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE A SNAKE ON YOUR PROPERTY!!

I wanted to construct this post on the do’s and dont’s in the case of a snake found in or outside your home, unfortunately not every snake we as catchers get a call for is successfully caught. We get quite a few “no shows” meaning we simply cannot locate the snake on property. Theres a few things that can be done to give snake catchers the best possible chance to locate and safely catch the snake on your property. I have also listed First Aid steps to take in the case of an emergency where a bite has occurred.

DO’s

1. Contact a licensed catcher IMMEDIATELY after spotting a snake if you deem it to be a risk to you, your pets or in reverse where there is a risk to the snake from pets and or humans.

2. Keep an eye on snake from safe distance.
I cant stress this point enough. Its one of the first messages i relay when i get a callout. Keeping physical eyes on the snake in question allows catchers to easily locate the snake on arrival. A snake can very quickly move from point A to Point B and following its movements dramatically increases the chances of a safe catch.

3. Remove or secure any pets from the area where snake has been seen. This will stop any potential confrontation between pet and snake that could lead to the potential death for either or both animals.

4. If possible get a photograph of the snake from a safe distance and send directly to your catcher. A licensed catcher will be able to identify the snake and the immediate risk to you or pets and relay sound advice based on this positive ID. This may include advice to potentially leave snake where it is if catcher and yourself deem there to be no sound reason for removal and relocation.

DONTS

1. DO NOT try catch, kill or get within unsafe distance of ANY snake you may come across on property. We as snake catcher have obtained special permits to allow us to handle and relocate native wildlife. Its not only an offence to try handle, catch or kill native wildlife (including snakes) but it also puts said person in significant danger of a potentially fatal bite.

2. Once snake catcher is called DONT become complacent and take eyes off snake. Our job can only be done once we are on the property. Until then refer to Do’s number 2. Maintain eyes on snake and wait for our arrival.

FIRST AID:

1. Follow DRSABCD

2. Lay the casualty down and provide reassurance. Keeping them calm will assist in reducing body movement.

3. Apply a pressure immobilisation bandage:

Wrap a broad pressure bandage around the bite as soon as possible
Apply a firm heavy elasticised roller bandage just above the fingers or toes and work your way upwards on the limb. Wrap the bandage past the snakebite and as far up the limb as possible
Ensure the bandage is applied firmly without hindering blood circulation

4. Splint the bandaged limb if possible to reduce further movement. If in the bush a broken tree branch broken to correct sizing works great.

5. Ensure the patient remains still and stay with them by side until professional medical assistance arrives

6. Call triple zero (000) for medical assistance. ( this step if multiple people on scene can be done first/ immediately after bite while other said person applies bandage.

If you are unsure on what to do please contact a licensed catcher and we will assist you with the most appropriate advice and action to handle the situation.
