Back in stock! Papilio lorquinianus and Papilio memnon!! Some absolutely stunning swallowtail butterflies that have just been restocked after being unavailable for quite a while!

Papilio lorquinianus (sub-species albertisi) or The Sea Green Swallowtail is a stunning species of butterfly found in the Maluku Islands. This butterfly has stunning, brightly coloured wings that change depending on the angle and lighting between blue and green. This species is one on the smaller end for swallowtails, with a wingspan of approximately 8.5 cm.

Papilio memnon, or the Great Mormon, is a large butterfly found in Southern Asia. The Great Mormon belongs to the swallowtail family and has large 12-15cm black wings, sometime with a blueish undertone. There are many subspecies of Papilio memnon.

This Saturday we will be attending 2 separate events that overlap. I will be with a friend at Vic Park Summer Street Party 2024, while my Mum and sister will be at Claremont Artisan Markets.

Stock will be fairly similar at both events as I currently have multiples of most items. Both events are looking like they will be a great night so if you're free head over to whichever suits you!

This week is our busiest of the year for Markets! Tomorrow you can find us at Markets in the Square and on Sunday we will be at Stirling Square Market - Guildford!

Mark your calendars and get excited — the Vic Park Summer Street Party returns in 2024!

This year’s event will touch down in East Victoria Park, covering Albany Highway from Dane/Hampshire Street to Sussex Street North.

There'll be entertainment for the whole family, including live music, children’s activities, pop-up market stalls, food vendors, and loads more.

Attacus atlas males AND females in stock now!!

Attacus Atlas or The Atlas moth is a large species of moth found across the forests of Asia. The Atlas Moth is one of the largest species of Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), with a wingspan of up to 24cm, and a wing surface area of up to 160cm squared. Named after the titan Atlas from Greek mythology, due to their large size. This species is also referred to as The Snake's Head Moth, due to the end of their forewings resembling the head of a snake.

In India the Atlas Moth is cultivated (non-commercially) for their silk, known as fagara. The silk of this species is undesirable for commercial use as it is secreted as broken strands. Atlas Moth cocoons are sometimes used as coin purses in Taiwan.

The incredibly popular Acherontia atropos (African Death's Head Hawkmoths) are back in stock!

Acherontia atropos set in 16.5x16.5x6 cm black shadow box

Acherontia atropos, or the African Death's Head Hawkmoth, is the most widely known of the three Acherontia species. Death's Head moths are highly recognisable for the skull shaped pattern on their thorax, giving them their common name. The wingspan of this species can range from 8-12cm, and they are commonly found throughout Africa as well as in Southern Europe.

The Death's Head Hawkmoth is a very well-known species of insect, largely due to its appearances in popular media, including The Silence of The Lambs and Dracula.

We also have Acherontia lachesis (Greater Death's Head Hawkmoth) in stock and Acherontia styx (Eastern Death's Head hawkmoth) on its way to being restocked!

Heterometrus cyaneus or the Asian Blue Forrest Scorpion is a large species of scorpion native to Borneo, The Philippines, and Indonesia. It is found in tropical rainforests and wetland forests, typically hidden underneath fallen logs and under rocks. This species typically reaches sizes of up to 12-15cm. The sting of this species can cause moderate to severe pain, however, typically without further consequences.
