Dusting off the eventing cob webs at Capel eventing. We took some time off last year to concentrate on gaining strength in the dressage and to just relax and have fun at home. Caddie being an absolute pleasure to ride, despite a couple of cat pouncing moments later on in the test when he got a bit excited (hard to imagine I know). Can’t complain when he feels so light and beautiful to ride. ❤️
And …. Thanks to KAMCO for making all of this possible with the most amazing arena surface to train on. If you’re looking at building an arena, you must call Stew at Kamco!

This special boy has found his new perfect owner. What a dream he was to break in and by far the bravest horse I’ve ridden ❤️ .. also the only horse I’ve had who jumps paddock fences to hang out with Llama’s. Such a little menace but certainly unique and talented. Hopefully one day I’ll have the opportunity to live the Koyuna dream again.

Very well said.... horses can’t always be everything.

I dunno though. I’m old now. Bit cynical. Kinda jaded. Few bad auld injuries over the years. It’s too late for me. I can’t be used as a shining example, so I can only conclude that I was put on earth to serve as a TERRIBLE WARNING.

So I’d rather say, don’t stop trying IF you don’t want to stop trying. But if you decide one day that you’d rather try something else for a bit, then do that. I always say that horses are like rats, they are fu***ng EVERYWHERE. You can always go back to them later on. But you are the only one of you, and your life is the only one you have got. If it’s just too hard to achieve your horsey goals right now, come back to it again when you have more resources and a clearer route to make it happen more easily for yourself. Don’t sacrifice everything and everyone good in the pursuit of the unattainable. I’m WISE AS F**K. You’re welcome 😁

Uli was purchased in 2020 with the potential to be a five star eventer. He’s from the same bloodlines that took Wendy Shaeffer to the highest levels of eventing (Brilliant Invader and Souvenir sires). The Koyuna stud has also produced many World Cup show jumpers.

Something to consider when purchasing a pony or horse. Safety v soundness. For me, safety is the priority - so many other aspects can be managed.
