Pup Date ~ Basil ~ The Chocolate Box Litter

Cheeky Basil sleeps like this, so his fur-ever family cannot close the door on him!! He is such a character and has brought much fun to the house.

Brave Basil had his first swim at the beach today, and he loves the water. Typically, Schnauzers aren't fond of the water, but not Basil!! He's not afraid at all.

HELP it’s grooming day tomorrow and my clippers have been taken away tonight to be sharpened and repaired 🙀

Around this time, the Chocolate Box Litter will have their first groom. 12 weeks "ish "is a good time for their first groom, which usually involves washing, sanitary trim, and tidying up.

The idea is to familiarise them with the groomer and the experience, which is a new adventure for them.

For a life of looking gorgeous, and because they don't shed hair, grooming is a part of life for a hypoallergenic breed.

Cherry was a really good girl! GO Cherry 🍒

At MiriCol Paws, we start trimming nails at one week of age and do that every week they are in the puppy pen. Then, from four weeks of age, we trim bottoms around the eyes and under the paws weekly using a trimmer and scissors.

Plus, some slicker brushing regularly.

They don't love this, but they get used to it, and that's the key to socialising them from the get-go, so they adapt to the new things they need for life.

A dog is a pack animal, and they look after each other in the pack. Grooming them between groomer visits, including eyes and brushing, is so helpful for them to know they belong. You are their pack, and you are loving them by grooming them.

Lulu still grooms Gracie, licking her face, and Gracie laps it up!!

It's all part of a dog's life 🐕🐾🐕‍🦺
