Foal slippers (the white on the hoof you can see is all slipper on our filly born last night). How cool is Mother Nature!

Foal slippers - commonly know as 'Golden slippers'. When foals are born, their hooves are covered in a rubbery layer known as a capsule. This soft capsule covers the sharp edges of the foal's untried hooves, protecting the jenny as the foal travels along the birth canal. These break away soon after birth.

Well, she’s been watched like a hawk the last 3 nights in the stables, only for her to pop when I put her back in the paddock at lunchtime. It’s a beautiful and absolutely filthy little filly for our Lady Lulu and Amberjack. What a star you are mumma. And a pain in the bum.

So Amberjack (our coloured jack) normally (every time without fail except this time) chases after his Apple like a dog. You throw it, he runs after it. It’s very cute.
